"You just don't want to leave! Our stay at Berry'd Treasure was amazing! Grab a cup of coffee and relax on one of the porches or stroll down to the floating dock. You will instantly lose track of time watching the painted buntings on the bird feeder or seeing the occasional dolphin swim through the tidal creek. A small walk to the beach and you can easily spend the day swimming or looking for shells. The house has all the comforts of home, books, games, puzzles and VHS and DVD players. You have so many places to sit and do a large group activity or break away and enjoy a smaller group or be in complete solitude. We played games with the kids and could still have our own time together. Then you end the day the way you started, substitute wine for coffee and find a spot to take in nature."

"Richard: We are still in withdrawal from our time at your haven...looking longingly now at the pictures. Best vacation we have ever taken...and we have had quite a few in a variety of beach and desert locations. It was the most relaxing for us and it was absolutely perfect for our 11 month old "fur-baby" (black lab) Mack. I will send a picture or two. He was able to be "free" on the deck while we were there reading or relaxing and then, of course, on the beach with us. OK....I will stop now..... Thanks again. Can't wait until next year."

I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was very happy with the location.
The vacation rental was very clean.
The property manager was very helpful.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
My extended family of 8 (6 adults, 2 children) enjoyed our stay in Beach Bums. We chose it because of the elevator as my father had been having back problems. This was definitely a huge bonus as it made move-in and move-out so much easier. The only complaint was with the mattresses. They are very firm, so a pillow-top cover as an option would have been nice. Also, while we were there the tap water had an abnormally bad smell. I'm accustomed to "beach water", but this was unlike any other time we've been there. I don't know if it was this way all over the island or just in our house, but the good thing is, there is a tap for filtered water in the kitchen sink that made the otherwise unusable water perfectly suitable for cooking and even making coffee and tea. What a lifesaver that was! The home is lovely, and the layout is great. The nice big kitchen and large kitchen table made meal prep and dining easy. We had a golf cart, so the one block trip to the beach was a breeze. I even walked it once, and it was not bad at all. Jungle Road is busy, but the house has a fence out front so there's no worry of the kids running into the street. Some traffic noise, but not too bad. Speaking of golf carts, if you take one or rent one, know the rules. We got pulled over and issued a warning citation from the Edisto police for a number of violations. They were stopping carts left and right, which seemed new since last year.
Manager responded on 8/3/2015:
We have just received your review. Thank you for sharing your experience. We value your feedback! We are so pleased that your family enjoyed the comfort and convenience found at Beach Bums on Edisto Beach. The tap water is extremely salty throughout the beach so it is so nice when homeowners decide to put reverse osmosis systems in their homes. We would love to be your host on Edisto during any season. We are always a phone call away!

"The first thing we were impressed with when inquiring about renting High Seas, was the quick response from the owner. The communication throughout the rental process was positively great! Any questions we had about the home or the area were quickly answered. I am thankful for the owner interest in their guests. A lot of thoughtfulness is put into the amenities provided with this home which sure takes a burden off travelers. Upon arriving we found High Seas to be just as beautiful as it appears in the photos - if not more so. It's truly a beautiful roomy home with much character and hospitality. Very comfortable furnishings and everything you need to make you feel "right at home." Every imaginable kitchen gadget, an abundance of dishware, cookware and electrical appliances are provided so we did quite a bit of cooking and grilling.
We enjoyed playing on the beach and in the ocean, searching for sea shells and shark teeth, bike rides around town and just hanging out at home. We enjoyed eating grilled shrimp (fresh off the boat) from Edisto Seafood. The atmosphere of Edisto Beach is very relaxed and family oriented. It was very easy to strike up conversation with other visiting families. There are no fast food chain restaurants at Edisto but there are plenty of unique eateries. We didn't get the opportunity to try all of them but we did enjoy the meals we had at Water Front, Sea Cow Eatery and during a rainy evening Bucks Pizza delivery.
We got to observe Turtle Patrol re-locating sea turtle eggs to a "turtle nursery" above the tide zone. The patrol ladies did an awesome job educating by-standers about the life cycle and research associated with sea turtles.
This is a great place to get away from everyday cares and enjoy a relaxing break. Thanks High Seas owners!"
