"relaxing property with wonderful views, a home away from home with beautiful sunrises and the soothing sound of the waves caressing the beach."

  • Beachy and fun!

"Those are the words that come into mind when I think back (longingly!) on our vacation at The Original Seacloud. This was just easy from start to finish. Richard and Mary apparently work 24 hours a day because every time we emailed them they emailed us back right away; mostly late at night! Everyone else we emailed didn't reply until the next day. And the house...well it was wonderful. We went on the beach every day and let the kids just play! We brought them back and bathed them in the outdoor enclosed hot and cold shower and now they think we need one at home but we tell them that is only to be had at The Original Seacloud. We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms; (they are all too cute!) but we stayed in that one because I just loved the saying they had engraved on the wall above the bed. I keep wishing I had written it down; can you please tell me what it was? It was along the lines of "Dance like no one is watching". We'll be back; I hope you're open when we can come back!"

  • Three generations: comfortable and convenient

"We (one retired; one nearly so) stayed here for a short beach vacation with my mother and two young adults. It's close enough to walk to beach (we went back and forth several times a day), grocery store, and bike rental. We could easily have walked to restaurants, but we preferred to cook fresh veggies and seafood in the two ample kitchens. The location, on a quiet street with a shady yard, was even better than I'd expected. The configuration of rooms wasn't ideal for us. The two kitchens would be excellent for some, but for us on this trip, roomier bedrooms would have been nicer--at the time we booked, we weren't sure if we'd have three or five people. (The master bedroom is spectacular, but the other two are average-sized.) The two-sided arrangement would be great for families with teens or older children, though. There was an abundance of cooking utensils, books, and videos--almost too much! Everything was clean and in order. I really enjoyed the screened-in porch underneath the house, and the swing. The weather wasn't hot when we were there, but that would be a wonderful shady spot in summer. The house and yard are well-kept and pleasant. The owners were very easy to deal with and answered all of our questions beforehand. Getting in and out of the house was easy. I would stay here again, depending on how many and what ages of people were traveling with me."

  • Peaceful, private get-away.

"Great off season location. My wife and I chose this for a spring break from the long, cold, northeast winter. It was very private and quiet in March and we really got some time to relax. The island was fun to explore and location just 50 minutes from Charleston. The house was set up with everything you need to feel right at home and we were able to use their canoe to explore the back tidal river. Lot's of fun!"
