"My husband and I recently returned from our week vacation in Edisto Beach. First of all, let me just say that the house was fantastic! We loved the decorating and that it had plenty of room. It was one of the nicest beach houses we have rented to date. Also, the beach was perfect. It's very shallow and sandy, with no seaweed whatsoever. In addition, there are literally 5 different restaurants that are within walking distance from the house. That was a huge plus. The grocery store was also less than half a mile away. The only reason I didn't rate the house with a five star rating is that there were several basic things missing that we needed to buy. We needed to buy toilet paper, soap, shampoo, detergent for both the washing machine and dishwasher and it was rather different to have to rent the sheets and towels. Also, it is a solid hour from the airport, which was a bit of a disappointment, but of course, that is not the fault of the owner. If you are a sun worshiper, you're good. Otherwise, plan on buying an umbrella of some sort, and maybe some beach chairs as well, in order to stay out of the sun. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and just loved the house itself."

"Our stay at Nature's Retreat was perfect. If you are not familiar with Jeremy Cay, it's a hidden gem on Edisto Island and is ideal spot for those seeking a beach vacation without all of the hustle and bustle of a busy, commercialized beach. The house was spacious, the beds cozy, and the kitchen was ideal for all meals. The icemaker spoiled us - seriously considering purchasing one for our home now! We took our kayaks and fished in the lagoon behind the house several times each day. We caught creek shrimp with the cast net right at the landing as well as blue crab, flounder, and redfish. The inlet was a natural "lazy river" and the kids enjoyed floating back and forth as the tides rolled in and out. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we've ever had! Cannot wait to go back. Thank you so much for your hospitality Vickie!"

"My husband , Brother and I brought our 95 year old Dad to Edisto Beach to celebrate his Birthday. We all enjoyed the condo. It is in a wonderful location ........Very relaxing. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for the real "low-country" experience."

I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was very happy with the location.
The vacation rental was very clean.
The property manager was very helpful.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
My extended family of 8 (6 adults, 2 children) enjoyed our stay in Beach Bums. We chose it because of the elevator as my father had been having back problems. This was definitely a huge bonus as it made move-in and move-out so much easier. The only complaint was with the mattresses. They are very firm, so a pillow-top cover as an option would have been nice. Also, while we were there the tap water had an abnormally bad smell. I'm accustomed to "beach water", but this was unlike any other time we've been there. I don't know if it was this way all over the island or just in our house, but the good thing is, there is a tap for filtered water in the kitchen sink that made the otherwise unusable water perfectly suitable for cooking and even making coffee and tea. What a lifesaver that was! The home is lovely, and the layout is great. The nice big kitchen and large kitchen table made meal prep and dining easy. We had a golf cart, so the one block trip to the beach was a breeze. I even walked it once, and it was not bad at all. Jungle Road is busy, but the house has a fence out front so there's no worry of the kids running into the street. Some traffic noise, but not too bad. Speaking of golf carts, if you take one or rent one, know the rules. We got pulled over and issued a warning citation from the Edisto police for a number of violations. They were stopping carts left and right, which seemed new since last year.

We have just received your review. Thank you for sharing your experience. We value your feedback! We are so pleased that your family enjoyed the comfort and convenience found at Beach Bums on Edisto Beach. The tap water is extremely salty throughout the beach so it is so nice when homeowners decide to put reverse osmosis systems in their homes. We would love to be your host on Edisto during any season. We are always a phone call away!
