  • Peaceful, private get-away.

"Great off season location. My wife and I chose this for a spring break from the long, cold, northeast winter. It was very private and quiet in March and we really got some time to relax. The island was fun to explore and location just 50 minutes from Charleston. The house was set up with everything you need to feel right at home and we were able to use their canoe to explore the back tidal river. Lot's of fun!"

  • Great value for a large family

"We chose this property because of the large space available and the bunk beds in one of the bedrooms. The property itself is fascinating and has obviously been tastefully added on to. We brought two families down and packed the house to the gills with 4 adults and 8 children. Never did we feel like we were cramped or stepping on each other. The kids really enjoyed the movies and the novelty of using VHS tapes... "How do you start the movie over?" REWIND! The covered, paved carport was great for a small kiddie pool that we brought and the outdoor shower was great when some of the younger kids got into the mud during a trip to the sound. How can you be mad at a muddy kid when you have such a nice, heated outdoor shower? The kitchen was well furnished and the various porches were amazing to get away from the madness of the indoors. Key points (positive): Bike/running trails directly behind house. Rent a bike and use it every day. Awesome, easy access to beaches. 24hr Grocery store on island is great and prices are reasonable Fresh water can be obtained from the city hall building less than 3 blocks away Laundry room downstairs perfect to keep dirt and mud from inside Visit Botany Bay for some truly outstanding nature sights! That beach is amazing! (negative): Mattresses in master suites desperately need replacing. I have a bad back and it was utterly painful to sleep on. This was easily the worst part about our trip. Sleeping on a rock hard, squeaky mattress actually made me dread going to sleep at night. The kids' beds were just fine. Tap water is really salty, even after filtering. Do NOT make coffee or tea with it. Get fresh water from city hall. Not really a big deal. Bring dishwasher soap as it is fairly small compared to most newer units. Just takes a few extra cycles to wash everything when the house is full. Owner: Consider adding some hammocks or swings under the home to encourage more outdoor activities. Otherwise, we truly enjoyed our stay and your property will be high on our list of recommendations, but PLEASE get those mattresses updated. After a day of chasing kids, I want to be snuggled in a nice bed while on vacation, not struggling for sleep. Also, you may want to have someone look at the power sockets in the living room and dining area. Some of the plugs fall right out as they are worn out. Possible fire hazard, but really easy to fix. Would definitely recommend, overall!"

  • April Beach Getaway for Birthday

"My mothers birthday was on the 16th of april and we decided to find a house in Edisto for a quite beach getaway. Found this house at a very great price and to be completely honest I was a little weary knowing some property experiences that friends have had at this beach for bargain prices. Upon our arrival we could not have been happier. The house was great. Large living/dinning room. Awesome kitchen with an amazing breakfast bar that allowed all of us to enjoy a quick breakfast. The sleeping situation was also very good for us. Plenty of beds, as well as some comfortable couches that we also napped on after getting burned in the sun the one day it was sunny. The hardwood flooring made for a very quick and easy cleanup. Deposit was returned to me very promptly. The walk to the beach really is very short, and biking around the area was also a blast. The deck made it very enjoyable to have your coffee in the morning as well. The fridge, though at first site looked a little rough from the outside, was very clean, and worked very well on the inside and we never once bought groceries (brought everything from home). The grill outside, though im sure it has seen better days (its no longer a shinning stainless steel showroom model :) ) made it very convenient to make some steaks in the evening for a very nice dinner. Overall, there really isn't anything bad I could say about this house. We were all very satisfied and I would not hesitate to rent this again next season! Thank you for a great time!"

  • Just Perfect

"Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our family. This was our 4th year in this home, and I cannot imagine a more perfect place to vacation. There is plenty of room with 5 bedrooms, an ENORMOUS open kitchen, dining and living room and screened in porch. Add in the additional kitchen and living area downstairs and private pool, as well as being just across the street from a beach access - it was just perfect! The owners are lovely and very accommodating. Definitely will be coming back for many years to come. An all around great place to stay!"
