  • Great value for a large family

"We chose this property because of the large space available and the bunk beds in one of the bedrooms. The property itself is fascinating and has obviously been tastefully added on to. We brought two families down and packed the house to the gills with 4 adults and 8 children. Never did we feel like we were cramped or stepping on each other. The kids really enjoyed the movies and the novelty of using VHS tapes... "How do you start the movie over?" REWIND! The covered, paved carport was great for a small kiddie pool that we brought and the outdoor shower was great when some of the younger kids got into the mud during a trip to the sound. How can you be mad at a muddy kid when you have such a nice, heated outdoor shower? The kitchen was well furnished and the various porches were amazing to get away from the madness of the indoors. Key points (positive): Bike/running trails directly behind house. Rent a bike and use it every day. Awesome, easy access to beaches. 24hr Grocery store on island is great and prices are reasonable Fresh water can be obtained from the city hall building less than 3 blocks away Laundry room downstairs perfect to keep dirt and mud from inside Visit Botany Bay for some truly outstanding nature sights! That beach is amazing! (negative): Mattresses in master suites desperately need replacing. I have a bad back and it was utterly painful to sleep on. This was easily the worst part about our trip. Sleeping on a rock hard, squeaky mattress actually made me dread going to sleep at night. The kids' beds were just fine. Tap water is really salty, even after filtering. Do NOT make coffee or tea with it. Get fresh water from city hall. Not really a big deal. Bring dishwasher soap as it is fairly small compared to most newer units. Just takes a few extra cycles to wash everything when the house is full. Owner: Consider adding some hammocks or swings under the home to encourage more outdoor activities. Otherwise, we truly enjoyed our stay and your property will be high on our list of recommendations, but PLEASE get those mattresses updated. After a day of chasing kids, I want to be snuggled in a nice bed while on vacation, not struggling for sleep. Also, you may want to have someone look at the power sockets in the living room and dining area. Some of the plugs fall right out as they are worn out. Possible fire hazard, but really easy to fix. Would definitely recommend, overall!"

  • Ideal for 2 vacationers

"The apartment was excellent and clean. Out the door and on the beach. Very quiet and safe. Beach was wonderful and lots of shells. Excellent restaurants and grocery nearby. Out of way from crowded areas. Hope to return next year."

  • The Best Place on Edisto!

"This is our family's second stay at Sea Forest and we will definitely be back. We've stayed in many houses over the 30 years we've been coming to Edisto and this is our favorite! It is in a gorgeous setting with magnificent views of the ocean, creek and marsh. The sea breezes are wonderful as are the deck chairs for viewing the marsh and ocean, and the hammock on the dock. The house is very comfortable, clean, and well furnished. Mike is a pleasure to work with. The short walk to the beach access is part of the fun, although probably not for families with young children. We ran and walked on the beach, found spectacular shells and sand dollars, and even found a piece of the old crockery from early Eddingsville. Such a special week. Thank you!"

  • Edisto Intact

"I would like to preface this review by stating that my family grew up making annual trips from Northern Ohio to Edisto Island, SC. We have stayed at the State Park, Beachfront Housing and everything in between. Took a six year hiatus and after deciding to return hesitantly settled on Pyramid Pointe as our home base. While some of the changes to the island were disturbing/disappointing - Golf Carts EVERYWHERE, no Bell Buoy Seafood, Piggly Wiggly now called Bi-Lo! - Pyramid Pointe brought us back to the Edisto we knew and loved. As the owner states, be it in a more kind southern way, this is NOT a house for Yuppies (never fear Yuppies... a portion of Edisto Island now seems ready for you). Our Edisto reunion include a new generation (two children under two) and the Pyramid Pointe location provided endless entertainment for all ages. Rent the boats (all of them), bring your bikes (a very nice ride through a soon to be developed area ending where Scott Creek hits the ocean) and leave your golf cart at home! For anyone asking "Where's the Beach?"... it is about a quarter mile in front of Pyramid Pointe!"
