  • HAPPY NEW YEAR!

"What a perfect week we spent at "I Hope You Dance." We have stayed at many homes in Charleston/Isle of Palms/Sullivans Island and Wild Dunes. This house is one of the best! It is beautifully furnished and extremely well-equipped. The weather was variable, but we enjoyed every minute! Our grandson loved the tower room and one of my sons did the "Polar Bear Plunge" in the salt pool. The short walk to the beach and the outside showers are a real treat. All of the beach chairs, bikes, and sand toys were also wonderful. It was an absolutely fabulous week and the perfect way to ring is a New Year! Thank you!"

"The condo was so clean and Bonnie the owner was a pleasure to work with. We will become one of her return renters. We called to rent her first floor and she told us about her place on the second floor. We are so glad we got the second floor unit because the view of the ocean was such a pleasure to wake up and see each day. You can actually hear and smell the ocean from this units living room and balcony. The bed is very comfortable and we will be back. I would recommend this unit or her unit on the first floor, the beach front, pool and fishing pier is so close."

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property is very nice - great location and a beautiful house. The six bedrooms and 6 1/2 baths, along with a very large and functional kitchen, make it an excellent choice for a large group. Island Realty has always been very professional - when I called with questions about the property, the person in the office went to the house to be sure that he answered my questions correctly. We had one need for maintenance on Saturday, and the call was answered quickly and resolved immediately. There were only a few very minor things that would have made our stay better: We only received one key at check-in and it took two additional trips back to the office plus a maintenance call to get extra keys that worked. There are only two very small TVs for the house and one of them didn't work. A note for the cleaning service -- they only left one additional garbage bag in the kitchen, which is not enough for a six-bedroom house, even for a long weekend. I realize that is a small issue, but a frustrating one when it requires an extra trip to the store to get additional bags."

"This house lived up to almost all our expectations, and exceeded many of them. The housekeeping was perfect - we had no issues at all with the condition of the house when we arrived. The elevator, pool, hot tub, TV's, etc. all worked fine. The view from the roof/deck is wonderful, much better than we expected for a house a block off the beach. The beach on Isle of Palms is beautiful, great for sunning, walking, swimming, wading, shell hunting, fishing, all the normal things you do at the beach. There was plenty of off-street parking for six cars. Every bedroom has access to an outside deck, plus there was a deck off the main den on the third level which was a great get-together point every day. The roof deck is awesome: you see plenty of ocean, and the view of the beach is actually enhanced, made more picturesque, by the beautiful beach houses between you and the beach. I love photography, and some of my favorite photos from this trip are of ships in the distance with the beach and beach houses in the foreground. We enjoyed Charleston: the restaurants, the carriage ride through town, the market, the Confederate Museum etc. We had a good time twice at restaurants on the inlet on Shem Creek, which is in Mt. Pleasant on the way in to Charleston. On some days smaller groups with different interests and visited the market, Patriots Point, the plantations, Fort Moultrie, the Confederate Museum, Fort Sumter, the houses open to the public, the Battery, or just walked south of Broad Street to see the mansions. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all fine, although the bunk room was suitable for kids or young adults and a little less than perfect for seniors (which you might expect) and our group was all seniors. We ate most of our meals out, but we had one big breakfast together, and the dining room table was close but comfortable for all twelve of us. The pool table was not in great shape, so we decided to spend our time on things we can't do at home. There was a little confusion when I checked us in at the real estate office: the package including the keys was filed under the name of the owners, not my name, but luckily one of the ladies in the office figured it out. Add it all together and we had a wonderful time and would recommend this house highly, as well as Isle of Palms, Mt. Pleasant, and Charleston."
