  • perfect property for family with small children

"We have utilized this property the last two years and love it. Extremely clean and great décor that is also child friendly. alarm is triggered if the back door is opened so you know when your child is by the pool. Love that beach amenities are provided so you don't have to bring a thing. Only a block away from the beach and much quieter than the street on the beach. Walking distance to everything and just a short drive into Charleston. Love it."

  • 12 BR/12 BA, ocean front mansion

"This house is great and the owner was extremely responsive to the only 2 issues we had, a short in a ceiling fan and an infestation of ants at the pool. We had a family reunion with 24 people, including 5 under 4 years old and 2 teenagers. We were worried that we would be tripping all over each other but this house is large, spacious and well-designed. On the main floor, there are 3 separate sitting areas inside, not counting the kitchen (where people usually hang out), plus a large deck with enough seating for at least 20. In fact, the 1st floor deck was the main attraction. You can see the pool and the beach and almost always had a nice breeze blowing to keep things cool. There is also a nice deck on the 2nd and 3rd floors and a TV/sitting area on the 3rd floor. We never felt crowded, and although the children were loud, there was always a quiet place somewhere to get away from them. Each of the 12 bedrooms has its own private full bath (some are kind of small, some are incredibly large), plus there is a powder room on the 1st and 3rd floors. There are 4 master bedrooms that face the ocean that are more like suites than bedrooms with incredible views. The kitchen has plenty of room for several people to work at the same time, and the dinner table easily seats 14 people and has an awesome view of the beach. The children ate at the kitchen counter so they felt part of the dinner as well. There are 3 refrigerators, 2 in the kitchen and one in the carport under the house. They are not huge and with food for 24 they filled very quickly, which sometimes made it difficult to find stuff, but that is a minor complaint. The ice maker did a great job, we never ran out of ice, and the dishes, glasses, and cooking necessities were plentiful. The house has plenty of beach toys, umbrellas and beach chairs which we didn't know about, so we brought a lot of stuff we didn't need. I have suggested the owner be more explicit in what is available. This is the 6th time we have done a large reunion. Usually we have to have 2 houses. It was great having everyone under one roof, and it was by far the nicest house we have rented. Although it is a little costly, it is absolutely worth the extra money, and I highly recommend it."

  • Great house and an even better view!

"We made the change to IOP after vacationing Hilton Head for 29 years. We loved the slower pace and laid back attitude of those we encountered. The house was our favorite and we plan to return next year!"
