  • Great place to stay!

"We enjoyed every minute of our vacation here! Perfect location right on the beach and just minutes from downtown Charleston. You can walk everywhere--great local restaurants (loved Acme Lowcountry Kitchen) and to the beach shops and you are also right across the street from Ben and Jerry's! Clean, safe with everything we needed! We'll be back! Highly recommend!"

  • Excellent

"My daughter and I just got back from staying a few nights in this lovely condo. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. We loved the location just kitty corner to the beach and could hear the waves from inside the unit and see the water from our good sized balcony. Also loved the location inside the "Wild Dunes" community which is so nicely landscaped and offered beautiful trees and wildlife. I have been in another one of these communities in Georgia, and we felt unwelcomed there, were not allowed to use the pools and were heavily scrutinized by the front gate. There is a friendly and welcoming vibe here and we used our condo's pool. I highly recommend this unit."

  • GREAT rental

"My wife and I have been renting condos in Wild Dunes every summer for over 20 years. I can truly state that this is probably our favorite! The most outstanding feature is the screen porch overlooking the ocean. The view is so relaxing and the breeze is wonderful. What a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a beverage at sunset. But inside the condo is excellent as well. The kitchen is well equipped and has been renovated with modern features including granite countertops. The den has beautiful hardware floors and the master bedroom is quite large with a comfortable bed and an updated bath with a nice walk-in shower. The overall unit was clean and nicely furnished. We will definitely be renting this unit again."

  • Great beach vacation, yet in a secluded neighborhood

"We have visited Wild Dunes many times and enjoy experiencing the personalities of the various properties and neighborhoods. This house is in very good condition, and is well stocked for those, like us, who enjoy spending time at home and cooking together. There was a beautiful outside grill we used more than once. The walk to the beach was very manageable, so the fact that the home was in a quiet community gave us the best of both worlds. My elderly mother joined us and was able to utilize her walker throughout most of the house, along with using the master shower which had a small step in and a less slippery rock floor. For those wishing for more action, the Pavilion was within walking distance as well. I will emphasize that small children or the elderly would find both distances difficult, but they worked well for myself, my husband, and daughter, who are avid walkers. Of course, renting a golf cart is always an option. The living area and sunroom were comfortable as were the beds. Our goal was a retreat type vacation, so we did not indulge in any adventures, but there are plenty of opportunities on the island and within Wild Dunes with the sports card. My husband took in a round of golf on the dunes and was thrilled with the course and views. Our family is challenged with allergies and find comfort vacationing on IOP, having easy access to fine restaurants savvy with dietary limitations, and groceries easily available from Harris Teeter. Mt. Pleasant also offers Trader Joes and Whole Foods for even more fresh and allergen free options. We always take in a sunrise and were blessed with ocean beauty and much wildlife, including a family if four deer in the dunes. Overall, we would definitely consider this rental again. It was clean, well furnished, and private. Wild Dunes never disappoints; the facility is meticulously kept and the complex is a calm and safe atmosphere."

Wild Dunes Travel Tips

Wild Dunes Lodging Complete with Gazebo

Picture a short wooden pathway that branches off to a pool and gazebo before continuing on down to a private beach and you will be pretty close to imagining what Wild Dunes lodging can offer you. You are not only right on the Atlantic Ocean with Wild Dunes condos, you are also 20 minutes from downtown Charleston, South Carolina with all of its wonderful attractions. It is possible to spend the day at Charleston rentals filling your time with relaxing activities or walking along city streets window shopping.

Wild Dunes Condos near the Aquarium Wharf

Charleston is a fabulous city with historic tours of 18th and 19th century homes. The architecture will amaze you because of the detail and hard work put into each of these historic homes. The entire day can be spent away from Wild Dunes condos as you tour the Aquarium Wharf or old southern plantations nearby. Aquarium Wharf provides you a glance at the world's oceans and waterway systems, educating you on the various marine life species you might encounter on a scuba diving or snorkeling trip. In fact, you might be so excited after visiting the aquarium that you decide to rent snorkeling equipment to use during your stay at Charleston rentals.

Charleston Rentals and the Perfect Fish Dinner

Fishing is possible at Charleston rentals and you can either rent a boat or fish right off the town pier. Wild Dunes lodging options can help you if you decide to rent a boat, providing suggestions for the best tour operator. Locals enjoy deep sea fishing off the shores where they can catch shark, tuna, and other large fish for dinner. You can also join in this fun and bring fresh fish back to Wild Dunes condos. The accommodations provide barbecue grills for the perfect grilled fish meal.

Wild Dunes Lodging in the Gate Community

Wild Dunes is a private gated community complete with a golf course. Every morning you can wake up at Wild Dunes lodging for a day of 18 holes. Challenges vary from water obstacles and bunkers to sloping fairways and trees. For families with children, the pool and mini golf courses are perfect.
