  • Sept 2014 Family vacation

"Rating Details: I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was more than happy with the location. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Outstanding location, property was in need of thorough cleaning top to bottom and upgrades (well used and looks it) especially the upper level front bedroom (bed was terrible, no drapes on french doors and bathroom smelled of swamp gas). Just not well maintained. Overall we were able to get past the negatives and ended up having a great family vacation. Probably would return if upgrades and cleaning was up to par. Footnote: be careful of the garage door height-if you have an SUV with a roof rack you wont get in this garage and there is no outside parking. Be sure to ask for height restrictions of garage door. Also somewhat disappointed in wild dunes either closing restaurants early and few choices for eating out and few shopping opportunities requiring a drive out of the community. We have vacationed on Kiawah island and prefer not having to travel off campus because of more open spaces and shopping opportunities. Also we rented a golf cart and after 2 days we never used it again. Wild dunes is so over built that there are few if any places to drive a cart for sightseeing ventures. no open spaces unless your on the golf course. Take your bikes because there is a bike trail on the main street. Just no trails through any open spaces or wooded areas. There's a house on every square inch of space which eliminates views of beach from street level. Manager responded on 9/22/2014: Dear James, Thank you for your input regarding your stay at this property. We will discuss your suggestions with the owner. There is additional parking at the Sweetgrass Pavilion for over sized vehicles. East Islands Rentals"

  • Perfect for family re-unions!

"This was a perfect house for our family reunion including two babies. The house was spacious with room to read, nap, laugh, and cook. We especially loved both porches. We enjoyed the beach, pool, and our walks early morning."

  • a thing of beauty

"My family stayed at this home last summer and it was a perfect stay/location. We were at wild dunes with four other families. In the evening everyone came to our home as it was beautiful and spacious. All amenities were as described and the central location perfect. Less that a 4 minute walk to the beach and all pools were a plus as we had children 6-15 yrs old. The porches (back one screened in) made relaxing in the evening sublime. If we come back to the wild dunes area I would definitely stay at this home. Shhh don't tell anyone or it will be booked. ENJOY"
