  • Great House

"We rented this house for a family reunion for 9 adults. The house was fantastic! Plenty of room, comfortable beds, and the kitchen was well supplied with everything we could possibly need. The only issue we had was the upstairs bedroom. We were there in the spring, it wasn't warm enough to turn on the air conditioning, and there was no ventilation in the upstairs 5th bedroom. It was uncomfortable for sleeping. Once it gets warmer and the air conditioner is running, it would probably be fine, but for us, it wasn't really usable space. Short walk to the beach. We rented bikes and were able to get all around the property. We LOVE staying in Wild Dunes and will definitely rent this house again for our next reunion!"

  • Nice home, great location, but a few small issues

"We have vacationed in Wild Dunes for 14 years and have stayed in lots of different homes. This was our first time staying in Fairway Oaks. We loved the location - middle of WD and really close to beach access. The area was very peaceful and quiet, even with construction on the house next door. The decor was mostly updated and comfortable. However.... There were some weird things about the house. The biggest thing is that the nicest, largest bathroom is on the first floor while the master bedroom is upstairs. The bathroom that is next to the master bedroom (only room with king bed and walk-in closet) had less storage and a much smaller shower with minimal water pressure. It felt strange that our kids had a much nicer bathroom than we did. Also, the house was not as clean as I would expect from WD. It needed a good dusting, and the floors didn't seem like they had been mopped in a while. We found someone's toiletry bag in a drawer of the upstairs bathroom. It seemed weird that housekeeping didn't notice it. There is a small bathroom on the ground floor that would have been great to use after coming off the beach. We weren't able to use it, however, because it had never been cleaned from a previous guest. A dirty washcloth was on the floor, along with shampoo bottles and trash. I told the girl at WD office, and she offered to have someone clean it. We declined since we were already settled in. She assured me the bathroom would get cleaned on Wednesday during our mid-week cleaning. The cleaning was basically a bathroom straightening and a change of towels. Floors still needed a good mopping, and the dirty bathroom was untouched. We were not impressed AT ALL with the cleaning staff. Overall, the house was nice, but I don't think we would stay there again. It just wasn't our favorite, and there are lots of other options at that price point. The cleaning issue definitely sealed the deal for us."

  • Great stay in Wild Dunes!

"We had a great girls weekend away with 8 ladies in this house. It is a comfortable house with lots of room for everyone to relax. We had rainy weather for the entire stay so were inside a good bit. We were disappointed with the sleeper sofa, there were no linens provided for it and we were not able to use it as a sleeping option (the mattress was dated and uncomfortable). Other than that, the house was perfect. We all agreed that we would stay there again."

  • Great way to end the summer!

"Our family of six enjoyed an end-of-summer vacation at this amazing beach home. We were pleasantly surprised to be so close to the beach and to the evening activities for the kids (movie night, t-shirt tie-dying, etc.). We enjoyed the Marina where we rented a boat one day and all tried paddle boarding another day. We had heard about the great dining in Charleston and also were happy to find unique, family-friendly eating on IOP and in Mt. Pleasant. We have put in our reservation for next year!!"
