  • Feels Like Home!

"If you have any hesitation renting on Homeaway or VRBO, DON'T!!! At least not with this homeowner, David Pearson, who was such a pleasure to work with and so accommodating! Everything on this listing is 100% accurate. From the moment you walk in the front door, you feel at home at 26 Pelican Reach. Wonderful location, everything you need for a beach home! We had 5 adults and one teen and the house was a perfect size. The home is so comfortable and has a great layout for enjoying family time. The home is roomier than it appears in the photos - the living room can seat at least 8 adults very comfortably without having to utilize dining chairs or bar stools. The dining room was the perfect size for us to enjoy game night as well. Also, the house was very clean and well supplied with towels, toilet paper, kitchen accessories, etc... Lastly, the golf cart was a hit and a great way to explore beautiful Wild Dunes. This was our first visit to IOP and we loved the island. Don't miss Acme - great seafood just a few miles down the way. We went there shortly upon arrival on our first night and were welcomed to Low Country with pimento cheese grits, fried shrimp and she-crab bisque...delicious! (I find TripAdvisor to be a very reliable source - Acme is ranked #1 restaurant on IOP. Also, David will send a packet with great info about the area as well, including dining options). About 7 miles down is Sullivan's Island - wonderful, laid back vibe with some good restaurants/bars (Obstinate Daughter is a great dining option). Happened to be there on New Year's Day for the annual Polar Plunge that starts at Dunleavy's Irish Pub, an event not to be missed should you find yourself in the vicinity on Jan. 1 (Dunleavy's is worth a visit regardless)! We enjoyed touring Ft. Moultrie at the end of the island as well - entry is free from 4-5 daily and only $5/family any other time. The commute to Charleston is an easy one (about 30 minutes one way) and we never had issues with traffic. We found the city to be extremely easy to navigate and parking was easy (although know that most of the garages only accept cash). Once parked, the city offers free trolley rides along the more popular routes. The Visitor's Center is a great first stop for maps, tours, etc... On the flip side, live like the locals and visit The Blind Tiger and/or Griffon's for drinks/pub food and Pearlz Oyster Bar for great seafood. We will be back!"

  • Perfect house and location

"This house was just perfect for our family vacation! There was more than enough room for 4 kids, 6 adults, and our 2 dogs. The open floor plan was perfect for our family meals, the screened in porch was so enjoyable to sit and relax, and the pool and beach were just a short 2 minute walk, and the shower in the garage was handy to rinse off the last bit of sand from the beach . The neighborhood was great for walking my dogs, and it was a short stroll to the spa. The kitchen was well-stocked, the beds so comfortable! The owners had just installed a lock code key to the front door, and that was just perfect. Beth was wonderful to work with and provided lots of helpful information. I grew up north of this area, and it was wonderful to return for a week of relaxation and family fun. We definitely plan to return here again! We were sad to leave! Thank you for a fabulous stay!"

  • What an amazing experience we had at Wild Dunes Grand Pavilion 28

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I live in Nashville, TN but I grew up in Moncks Corner so I come back to visit family. It was so nice to go visit family but enjoy being by the beach during our week stay. The house was amazing! It was quiet because it's just walking distance to the pool without being right by the pool (BIG PLUS) it had plenty of space and was so well maintained. We enjoyed going out on the different balconies and just relaxing. We fly to Chas 1 to 2 times a year and we loved this home so much that we will be re-booking our future trips ahead of time so we can stay at this same house. It really does have the best location there and we had the perfect vacation. Thank you so much for opening up your home;)"

  • Great Condo/ Excellent Location/ Perfect for our Family

"Listing description was accurate - there was even more things there than listed. Place was clean and everything was in perfect working condition. Diane answered my questions via email super fast and gave great suggestions for restaurants and rainy day activities! The location was superb! Top floor (no noisy feet above you), corner (more views of the ocean) was key for us. The locked storage room downstairs was an awesome bonus for us as we have 3 kids and it was nice to drop off all our stuff (sand toys, life jackets, pool toys, chairs, umbrellas...) there at the end of the day and not have to drag anything up to the condo. Having a keypad to get into the condo was great too...no keys to misplace, and even our 5 year old could remember the code and unlock the door. Our 11 year old and his grandmother volunteered to set up our chairs out at the beach every morning. They were usually out there around 7 am and always got a good spot. The kids took advantage of the family games, puzzles and stereo that were there. Kitchen was well stocked - however we were glad we packed a few plastic cups for our kids (the condo only has glasses and the main dining table is glass as well) and a large griddle to make plenty of pancakes at once. There were plenty of pans, mixing bows, pitchers...you name it! Large pantry for all our food. We had a blast at the beach. We saw 2 dolphins and a small (3 foot) shark almost daily. TONS of sand dollars. We even swam out to the sand bar 3 days and found starfish, a few jelly fish, a small stingray, and a horseshoe crab. The kids (and grown ups) loved it!! The kids each came home with a gallon size ziplock of shells - some to put in their rooms and some to add to the collection in their sandbox. :) We spent 1 day inland. Had a fun time seeing alligators at Cypress Gardens, then we really enjoyed the ships at Patriots Point. Grabbed pizzas at Papa Johns on our way back to the condo. One night, we went out for some great seafood at Sullivan's. Weekly rate was affordable..$2375 ($2756 with cleaning fees and taxes). Hoping the rates don't go up too much for next year...we just may return! :)"
