  • Great house for families

"We rented this beautiful home for a wedding on Kiawah. Truly the pictures do not do it justice. The house has all the comforts of home - everything you could possibly need in a kitchen, top of the line washer/dryer, comfortable beds, wonderful screened in porch, crank out windows in the kitchen for fresh air, and everything was clean and in immaculate shape. It slept and bathed our two families of ten very well! The owner was quick to respond and more than accommodating. The island offers so much for a family with kids. Our three were amazed at all of the shells and critters we found on the beach, and the alligators and birds we saw on the marshes - buckets and beach chairs included. We also enjoyed visiting the nature center on the island. We hope to return to this house on Kiawah to explore all of its beauty again."

  • Thanksgiving Vacation at Yellow Throat Estate Home

"Beautiful home with a great floor plan for large family gatherings. Located near the ocean with an bike ride to the beach. Set in a beautiful part of the South with large trees, tree lined streets with overhanging canopy reminds you of the old south. A great market with premium quality food is only a short ride. We enjoyed our day at Patriots Point in Charleston just a short ride away."

  • Comfortable home in Kiawah

"We spent 10 days in this home with our daughter and son-in-law and their two toddlers. The home was very baby friendly and comfortable. We especially liked the large kitchen and the comfortable seating in that room. The home was very well-supplied with the necessary amenities. The bedrooms were well-appointed and very tastefully decorated. Our only disappointment was that the fourth bedroom was below the main living level so we couldn't use it for our little ones but an older child would love having this room with their own tv watching area. We especially enjoyed having access to the Night Heron pool complex. And our grandchildren loved the playground and nature center. The location of this home was excellent in terms of being close to the desired areas of the Island. A great location for a Kiawah vacation!"

  • Luxury Accommodations

"Walking into the home for the first time was a thrill. Beautiful house, fabulous pool, and convenient location made getting around the island easy. Quick trip to the beach either by bicycle or foot. Beach was not crowded. Gourmet kitchen made mealtime easy and enjoyable. Enough room at the table to accommodate the entire family for dinners. House was big enough that we were not on top of each other. Immaculate! Enjoyed traveling to Ft. Sumter, Folly Beach, and Charleston. Easy drive from the Charleston airport to Kiawah Island. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Easily accessible for questions. I highly recommend this rental property"

Vanderhorst Plantation Travel Tips

If You Are Vying for a Decadent Getaway, Vanderhorst Plantation Vacation Rentals Are for You

South Carolina is known for its pristine beaches, serene beauty, historic appeal, and relaxed atmosphere, and that is exactly what you get with Vanderhorst Plantation vacation rentals situated on Kiawah Island, a city in the heart of Charleston County. Most people arrive at their Kiawah Island rentals by car, though some fly in at the Charleston airport and rent a vehicle. Though there is a shuttle on the island, it is best that you have your own transportation when staying in a Vanderhorst Plantation resort accommodation.

The Allure of the Vanderhorst Plantation Resort

Before the Civil War, the Vanderhorst Mansion was the center of life on the island. It was a home, customs house, office, and civic center all rolled into one. Now, the Vanderhorst Plantation resort area is a gated destination offering some of the most beautiful homes in the Kiawah Island area. With beautiful vistas and exquisite beaches in every direction, Vanderhorst Plantation vacation rentals are select choices with controlled access. This ensures privacy and security for your family while on vacation and you can enjoy a stunning private home and complete control over your itinerary.

A Little Bit about the Area by Kiawah Island Rentals

Before booking Kiawah Island rentals, you should know a little bit about the area, though just glancing at a photograph will do just fine! Kiawah Island consists of 10 miles of pristine oceanfront beach without the crowds of tourists. Relaxing and fun for the family during the day, the area oozes romance at night. The beach, complemented by the island’s own river, marshes, and lagoons, is the perfect backdrop for a stay in any of the Vanderhorst Plantation vacation rentals.

Various Activities to Enjoy during Your Stay in Vanderhorst Plantation Vacation Rentals

Because Kiawah Island rentals are exactly that--island rentals--there is plenty of beach fun and wildlife to experience. The ocean, river, and marshes make wildlife abundant and the chances of seeing it are plentiful. Keep your camera handy, but keep a safe distance, from the alligators, birds, bobcats, deer, raccoons, and even loggerhead sea turtles. If you prefer something more civilized during your time at the Vanderhorst Plantation resort, perhaps a few rounds of golf would do the trick. To top it off, Vanderhorst Plantation vacation rentals are located near plenty of shopping, including the Freshfields Village. Freshfields is a mecca of shopping with high-end grocery stores, resort wear shops, vintage ice cream shops, and so much more.
