2014 beach vacation
"Our family of four, plus grandparents enjoyed a great week on Marsh Hawk. The large kitchen was well stocked and the upgraded appliances were a plus. Spent many evenings around the large dining room table playing games and recapping the days activities. Short drive to Charleston was nice, made that trek twice (make sure to visit Patriot's Point). Teenage boys enjoyed biking around the island. Had my parents use the master suite, due to the large walk-in shower, but the second bedroom was also very large and had the same great view. The beds were very comfortable.
Susan, the owner, was great to work with and quick to answer all of our questions."

"Kiawah is one of the most beautiful islands on the eastern coast and has been a favorite destination for our family vacations. Our family of eight thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. Bedrooms in two separate ends of the house and a large living space made for plenty of room to enjoy both togetherness and individual space. The kitchen was sufficiently equipped for cooking for that large group; we also appreciated the grill. The small screened in porch (space for 4-5) made for pleasant breakfasts and evening gatherings. This was our first stay on the marsh side of the island, but bikes made the trip to the beach easy. Navigating the busy intersection with Island Parkway was the only challenge; after that a quick 5 minute bike ride had us with our toes in the ocean. The owner was completely helpful and responsive. Would definitely stay again!"

"This home was perfect for our first family vacation to Kiawah Island. It was very spacious and comfortably fit our family of four (including a 5 and 7 year old) and two grandparents. The home is perfectly situated on Kiawah-- about a mile from the beautiful beach and less than a 10 minute drive to Freshfield's for shopping. It's also about a 30 min drive to Charleston, which we loved exploring-- and did so two out of the five days we were there. After our busy days in Charleston it was nice to come back to the house to relax-- away from the busy city. On other days we enjoyed the Kiawah beach and Night Heron Park/Nature Center. Our kids loved seeing the alligators in the many ponds on the island! We will definitely be back. Thank you Joe for answering our questions and for letting us stay in your wonderful home!"

"This beautiful home (much more than just a house) has everything anyone could ask for and more! Our family of 9 greatly enjoyed our week here, from the comfortable furnishings on the inside, to a well-stock kitchen (we were able to host 6 additional family members for a special dinner for 15 on Sunday), and the lush greenery on the outside (the secluded backyard is so peaceful). The owners were very helpful and quickly responded to our requests, both prior to our visit when we were planning for our vacation as well as when we got here and had a problem with the TV (it was quickly replaced). We highly recommend this home for others, as it is located within a quick walk/bike ride to the ocean. Plus, with 8 bikes in the garage, the beach chairs and beach toys/boards, there is no need to pack all of that or worry about rentals once here. Another awesome perk about this home is the flexibility regarding arrival day. As opposed to many other options which rent Sat-Sat or Sun-Sun, this home has the added benefit of being rented as available, which made a Tues-Tues rental the perfect option for the destination wedding we attended in Charleston on Saturday. A great all around choice! :)"
