  • Wonderful

"My family is local to the area but we are self employed so it is hard to travel away for vacation. We stayed at Palmers Point for 10 days and never wanted to leave. It was a very comfortable home that accomodated my entire family plus lots of friends. My little girl celebrated her 5th birthday in this home, we beached it during the day and my husband was able to flounder gig at night. It was a hidden piece of paradise for us. My girls attended Bible School while we were there and climbed the 1000 year old oak. We will be returning this summer. We are in love!"

"I can not tell you how wonderful all of the people involved with the Dixie Farm Plantation have been on our recent visit; from the manager, Andy, to folks next door, to groundskeeper, Dale and his wife, Ann, as well. Before we even got the boat in the water, we had two phone #'s to call for help if we needed it "at anytime." We have "SeaTow" but were so warmed and overwhelmed by their willingness to be so quick to help us if we got in trouble on the water...that in itself was so impressive and comforting to know. It really says a lot about the people running this place. ON TOP OF THAT, you can't ask for anything more if you are into fishing, shrimping, and relaxing. Everything is so convenient with the dock right on the inter-coastal waterway, AND with our wonderful "government shutdown", causing Buckhall to be closed, the private boat-landing was a Godsend!! Was talking to POP next door about them wanting to 'fancy up" the place and I asked, "Why?" I said, "It is casual, clean, and most comfortable...That is what is so cool about it. It is everything and all you need for having a great fishing , boating, "anything you want to do" and relaxing time. Man we get dirty fishing, and shrimping, and I don't want to have to worry about ruining the "Persian rug!!" It has a great big back porch with tables and chairs, and a swing, and it is perfect for kicking off wet boots and dirty clothes. The house was very clean, and you'll find anything you need in the kitchen. This place is perfect for a bunch of fishing buddies, or for families. We will most definitely be back!!! " Thanks," Andy, and everyone, especially Dale, who was always checking to see if everything was OK, and if we needed anything at all... Feel like we made friends for life. Just a wonderful place with folks serving up a super healthy dose of hospitality.... LOVED THE PLACE !!!"

  • A Little Piece of Heaven

"This was our first trip to McClellanville and we loved it!! Our family spent a little over a week there this summer and we cannot wait to return for another visit. The home is beautiful, spacious, and provides all the comforts that one could possibly ask for in a vacation home. We especially loved the screened porch looking out over Jeremy's Creek. We spent a lot of our time on the porch rocking, eating our meals, and talking. This house also has a very spacious yard and the covered dock is amazing! It had to be one of the best docks on the creek! We enjoyed sitting on the dock watching the shrimp boats come and go and watching the dolphins play. Our family was specifically looking for a home with a deep water dock. We needed a dock that would accommodate a 24 ft. boat at low tide. Our idea of a perfect beach vacation is taking the boat to the nearby islands and spending the day searching for shells, fishing, and relaxing on the beach. We visited nearby Bull's Island and Caper's Island which were only about a 30 minute ride down the inter-coastal waterway. The owner had kayaks available and my children and brother loved exploring the creek in the morning and evening. The girls loved exploring the small shops in town and we all enjoyed a wonderful meal at TW Grahams. Before leaving we also stocked up on fresh shrimp to take home. Shrimp can be bought right at the docks as the shrimp boats unload. We took most of our supplies with us but there is a Dollar General that is well stocked and there is the Sewee Outpost in Awendaw which is about 15 minute drive away. Jeff, the owner, was very helpful and answered all of our questions quickly and offered suggestions as to what to bring and places we might like to visit. We appreciate him sharing his beautiful home with us and look forward to returning again next year."
