  • This house has everything

"We stayed here with two other families, and we all had kids. Everyone loved it - my daughter said it was the best vacation she's ever had. There is so much to do right onsite! We really enjoyed the dock and the marsh, with a winding waterway leading directly out to the ocean. The beach is an easy walk, and the owners supply everything you'd want: beach toys, kayaks, bikes, crabbing gear, etc. Inside, we had so much fun with the ping pong table, foosball table, pool table, etc. All the bedrooms were clean and comfortable, with their own bathrooms. All the views were magnificent. We found no downsides to this house, and working with the owners was a pleasure. Highly recommend!"

  • 4.5 Really - Great Family Celebration

"We just enjoyed a delightful week at 11 Crabline Court, Hilton Head Island, with absolutely perfect summer weather! Our family of 13 adults, with 5 children under 18, all had ample private space with bathrooms, along with nice spaces to gather as a large group. We were celebrating our parents 80th birthdays and 60th wedding anniversary as well as a grandchild's 3rd birthday. Cooking for 18 was very easy in the spacious kitchen, although I would suggest a larger refrigerator and more efficient ice-maker. We had to make ice runs several times during the week. We also had a few issues with the dishwasher not running properly, but just continued resetting and persevering until it worked correctly. Steve, the shuttle driver, was gracious and hospitable, and always available. We tipped him generously in gratitude for his multiple tips. We had bikes delivered from Pedals and they were delivered and collected on time and they were in good condition. We appreciated the owner being willing to make the elevator available for our elderly parents and one handicapped adult. All levels were able to have proper cooling and temperature control. Overall, we thought the home was a good value for the amenities it provided. The pool was sized more like a hot tub, we often joked about trying to get all of us in it for a picture, but we never got around to it. The two youngest members of our party (aged 3 ad 6) enjoyed it though!"

  • Perfect location, great house

"Photos on website are accurate. Beautiful house, and terrific location. We had 12 total in our group, so there was plenty of room. House is well laid out, floor plan, etc. First floor is very nice, great place to congregate. Wide balconies on each floor. Luxury bathrooms. Elevator came in handy for arriving/departing w/ luggage and for older renters. While there was some wear & tear (not surprising given it is a rental house), overall it was great and everyone had a good time. We would certainly book again"

  • Great Place for Large Family!

"We formerly owned a vacation home in Palmetto Dunes and know the island well. 19 Crabline is in a small community near Singleton Beach - not within a plantation. We actually prefer this. The house is huge and provides a community space above the garage level which equals the entire footprint of the building. This open area includes a kitchen, family/dining area and living room area. The elevator was great for luggage. Above are two floors of large and comfortable bedrooms, including two master suites - one on each floor. The master on the top floor has a small refrigerator for convenience. Given that we are 10 people who do a lot of our own cooking, the extra refrigerator space comes in handy. Bathrooms are spacious and have very nice showers with good water pressure and sufficient hot water. Air conditioning is excellent, even on the top floor - provided you keep the bedroom doors closed. Otherwise, the cool air heads down the stairs even as the warm air rises from below. The main thermostat is locked on 72 and we have not at all felt the need to lower it (even if we could). Each room has a ceiling fan as well and we are very comfortable. The pool is small but adequate with an always-shaded sitting area which stays relatively cool. A ceiling fan is present as well as a gas grill, which works quite well. The beach is a one-half mile, easy walk. Between 9am and 5pm, the community provides a chauffeured golf-cart to the beach, available by phone request. The downsides are few and not enough to detract from a 5-star rating: the trash compactor (a great convenience at the beach as I learned from my prior home here) does not work; the linens supplied did not include any wash cloths or bath mats at all (and the bathroom floors are slippery when wet); while there were extra pillows and blankets (we needed both) there were no extra pillow cases and no extra bath towels (with 10 people). The rental agent was kind enough to promptly provide wash cloths, bath mats and extra pillow cases in response to an email. The kitchen has the basics, but is not as well equipped as other properties I have rented. The blender, for example, had a hidden crack in the bottom and was found to be unusable when a batch of frozen drinks leaked out all over the counter. In summary, having comparison shopped on VRBO and being familiar with HHI, and notwithstanding the several shortcomings listed, I can say 19 Crabline is a good value for the price."
