Comfortable, clean, decorated nicely, well stocked and one minute to the beach!
"We decided last minute to spend a long weekend on HHI, and were lucky to find this house available. We found the house very clean, the furniture in great condition and very comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked. The house is right on the bike path, and we rode the 1 mile to Coligny Plaza several times. The walk to the beach is just 1 minute; the beach is very wide here at low tide, and it was great for riding bikes, throwing the frisbee, and walking the dog. Because the house is almost at the end of N Forest Beach, there was little traffic. Just note, that if you visit in the winter, bring your slippers since the tile floor on the mail level can get very cold!"

"I have to admit that arriving at 9 Guscio with a party of 18, I was a bit nervous as to what we would find. I needn't have worried. When we walked in, we could tell that everything was sparkling clean and as advertised. We had 7 kids under the age of 11 and 11 adults in our group for an extended family reunion. My Dad is 70 and suffers from paralysis on his right side, the result of a stroke. He walks slowly with a cane and it is an extreme effort for him to pull himself up stairs. The elevator in the house made it easy for him to get around, which was terrific. He stayed in the master suite on the second floor. That room is stunning and humongous. In retrospect, if we stay there again, we might have him stay in the bedroom on the first floor for really easy access and then go up to the second for showers. Getting down to the pool required going down back stairs or going out through the garage and then walking around the house. Doable for someone with a cane and assistance, but probably not the best for someone always in a wheelchair.
We ordered a beach wheelchair from Vacation Mobility Solutions. They were great to deal with and deliver to the house like any of the bike companies. To get it from the driveway to the back of the house, we needed to go through the neighbor's property due to a tree on one side of the house, but that was easy enough and I'd be surprised if anyone would object to that minor intrusion. There is a nice private beach walk that ends in the dunes. We used two adults at a time to get my Dad over the slightly hilly walk, but really no issue at all. My sister ordered two canopy/chair combos and we set those up every morning. It was great to be able to sit in the shade with the ocean breeze and watch the kids play on the great Hilton Head beach.
The kitchen was very well stocked and it was nice to have the kitchenette on the third floor. My husband got up early to play golf and it was a great way for him to have breakfast and not disturb anyone. All the bedrooms are beautiful and the bathrooms are even better. The pool is so nice and is shady late in the afternoon; it is perfect after a long day in the sun.
The location of the property is very convenient and is far enough away from the resort areas that the beach isn't crazy. We would definitely stay there again and recommend for any large family group."

"Great house for beach lovers! There was everything we needed for a great week with my family of four plus 2 other family members. The second "master" downstairs also has a bathroom with shower (this was a little unclear in the description). We loved the house and location and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property."

"This was one of the years for a group of old college buddies to return to Hilton Head, as we have done since we were in school together in the seventies, for a week on the beach. Now that we have spouses, kids, kids' spouses, and grand-kids, we need a much bigger place. This home was the PERFECT space for us! The owners couldn't have been nicer to work with. The home was beautiful, with plenty of sleeping space for everyone - and (very important) plenty of parking spaces for our cars. We especially enjoyed the community spaces - loved the great room downstairs where we had such fun having our themed dinner parties each night. The fully - stocked kitchen made it so easy to prepare dinners for a large crowd (much more fun than trying to take a crowd out for dinner). And the pool/deck/Tiki Hut area was a highlight of our week! This home is literally 10 steps to one of the greatest beaches in America - and you practically have it to yourself! You're minutes from golf at Sea Pines, Ship Yard, or a bit further to one of our favorites - Palmetto Hall. The "younger crowd" took advantage of free babysitters and headed out for drinks in the evening a couple of times at South Beach or Coligny. Everyone agreed that we can't wait to return to 89 Dune Lane!"
