  • Family wedding

"Serenity on Lake Wylie was a wonderful place to stay. We rented this for my nieces wedding. Arriving at the end of the year made it a little difficult to use the lake, but the view was great and the house had just about all you would need. We had wished the hot tub had been available for use. Looked like they where working on the floor in the sunroom, but other then that the house was very comfortable and clean. I agree with a previous traveler :towels need washed before leaving so having your own for the last night was helpful. The information books where also very helpful. Would love to come back in the future and use the lake."

  • Amazing Lake House

"Wow! Just wow! This house is amazing. The house is exactly as it looks in the pics. Very clean. Even the grills were spotless....I know that may sound insignificant but we have stayed at many, many Homeaway and VRBO rentals and this one was by far the cleanest. Lake Murray was soooooo nice and so big. The view from the house and dock have such big water views that you feel like your on the coast. The lawn was mowed and well kept. The house had everything you need except towels (bring your own). It has a well-appointed kitchen. Now to the good stuff........the WATER!! It felt like bath water and was very clear. The kids spent their days swimming and jumping off the dock, floating on rafts and squirting each other with water guns. The adults took turns kayaking out to the many islands the lake has. Wow, what an experience! Upon rowing up to one of the islands all the birds started calling to each other. It was pretty cool I must say. So much wildlife there!! All in all one of the best vacations we've ever had. We will return. We are already planning our next trip! Thank you so much Adam and Kim for sharing your peace of heaven. You guys were such a pleasure to work with."

  • Loved Aiken and our Apartment !

"We came into Aiken for a few days of golf and to attend a practice round at The Masters. 4 of us stayed at this great apartment for 4 nights. Its even nicer than the pictures - lots of room - everything you need is there and location is perfect for walking around to restaurants and getting a cocktail. Very close to Aiken Golf Club which was a great course to play... we also played the River Golf Club. The Casa Bella Italian restaurant was FANTASTIC, highly recommend. I can't say enough positive things about our accommodation - we knew it was going to be great...it was better than that!"

Lakefront Central South Carolina Vacation Rentals

While many people think of a beach vacation or seeing the sights of Charleston, South Carolina for a vacation, they would be missing a beautiful retreat in the state, known as the Lake and Blackwater River areas. Lake Greenwood, Lake Marion, Lake Monticello, Lake Moultrie, Lake Wylie, Aiden and Camden are just some of the idyllic places to spend a week. The southern hospitality that is so well known will be in abundance when you stay in Central South Carolina vacation rentals. You can expect to find properties with lovely views of the lakes, fully equipped kitchens, and plenty of room for family and friends. These comfortable VRBO homes can accommodate large groups if you are looking for a place to host your next family reunion. There is a price range to fit any budget so come to South Carolina to indulge in outdoor activities or just lounge on your private deck.

Reaching Central South Carolina Lake Rentals

If you fly into South Carolina, you could arrive at Columbia which is in the center of the state. From Columbia, you would take Highway 20 to reach the vacation rentals of Aiken, Lake Murray, Abbeville, Lake Greenwood or Lexington. Then from this major highway, you would get on a smaller state road such as 25 or 221. These roads bring you close to Sumter National Forest. If you use Highway 26 out of Columbia going southeast, you will find the VRBO rentals in Lake Marion, Lake Moultrie, or Santee which can also be reached by using Interstate 95. You could even follow Interstate 26 into Charleston for a day trip.

Theater, Watersports and Horses Await Guests of Central South Carolina Lodging

Opera fans can visit the historic Abbeville Opera House that was built in 1908 in the Town Square. The theater has been restored and offers a broad range of performances so that you can enjoy an evening out from your Central South Carolina lodging. If Aiken, South Carolina interests you, there is a thoroughbred race track for you to visit. Polo is played at the track and you can enjoy watching the horses train for races. If you want to go riding, there are bridle or carriage paths that wind through Hitchcock Woods.

About 17 miles south of Aiken is a Living History Park that features buildings of the 18th century as well as a natural spring. You can bring a picnic lunch from your comfortable house as the park is open every day from dawn to dusk. Of course, nothing compares to beating the heat of a South Carolina summer like a dip in the many lakes that are in the area. You will find your luxury lake house has its own dock for you to relax on or park your boat next to. When you are ready to book your vacation, you can inquire from the owner if your rental will have kayaks, canoes, or other watersports equipment as some of them do. This only enhances the vacation experience when you can just walk down to the lake and splash to your heart’s delight.

Book Your Central South Carolina Lake Home Early

Summer is the prime vacation time in South Carolina’s Lake District. The weather is just right for lazy days spent on the water so it is best to book your lake home as soon as you can.
