  • Great getaway with great fishing !!!

"This was the 5th time I have stayed at this house and it is now an annual trip for me every year. The views are incredible, and the screened in back porch keeps all the bugs away!!! Bill and his wife (the home owners) go above and beyond to make you feel at home !! The river also offers some of my favorite catfishing in the state as well as monster shellcracker and bass. Not to mention you can run 20 minutes down river and catch saltwater species. This house is a fisherman's paradise, or if you just want a relaxing stay on the water there is always a good breeze blowing ! The house is always clean and ready to go with plenty of sheets and towels. Just bring your own toiletries, food, and fishing gear !"

  • Great week at the Lake

"First of all...the owners were responsive on any/all issues as well as compassionate and forgiving. When we found out that the owners have multiple properties we feared that any issues would not be quickly addressed (not true) or that when we had a miss-hap that there would be no leniency (also not true). The lake was great and although we failed to catch any fish, that was not the focus of our time. We spent most of our time on the watercraft and swimming in the cove. We did not have the best weather, but that's mother nature. The cove remained quiet and perfectly suited to just hang out. The fire pit was actually the highlight for our two boys (10 years old and under). Having the large deck and dock will keep you busy outside. The wifi was strong and quick. Television stations were plentiful. Kitchen was well stocked and we didn't want for anything. Everything worked as it should have. The selection of kayaks plus jet ski and pontoon left us feeling like we conquered Lake Murray (we also brought our own floats and inflatables). Would not have changed our trip but good to know: 1. It's a good distance to the water from the house. There is a gravel driveway that will get you down there if you must drive. It is a bit of a grade but we had no problem walking it multiple times a day. When we had a full cooler or day's worth of supplies, we were happy to have a car option to help carry the load. 2. If you plan to spend most of your time inside, the couches aren't the most comfortable and the living room could get cramped if you have a full house. This was not an issue for us...we only had 2 adults/2 kids there full time and 2 add'l adults part time. Besides, we were there for the lake and were only inside when it rained or when we were exhausted. (all the other rooms were plenty big even if you were at capacity) 3. Gasoline for the watercraft. Let me be clear, the owners provide high-end gas cans which provides you an opportunity to save money by being self-service. The gas station is close so the drive is not an issue. All that being said, you will be surprised how much gas is used having fun! Multiple trips take a lot of work, the gas cans are tricky to operate alone and when it is all done you may wish you just pulled into a marina and paid someone else."

  • Bright, comfortable, clean and cozy

"We had a fabulous weekend at this lake house. Everything we saw on this VRBO site was exactly what we saw when we arrived. The view from Living room/Dining area had floor to ceiling windows and had a great view of the lake and very awesome sunsets. The gas grill worked perfectly on a very large deck. The fire pit on the lake shore was an amenity that we don't have at home, and was fun and romantic. One recommendation is to stop for groc, etc before getting to lake house."

  • Quite and relaxing vacation

"Enjoyed a nice week with the family. Swimming, early morning canoe trips, fishing and boat rides, we had a good time. House was clean and well equipped with everything we needed for the week. Along with food, family and our canoe, we had a great time."
