  • Fun Fishing Weekend on Lake Wateree

"We had a guys weekend to celebrate my dads birthday. The house is on an awesome piece of property located on a point and has a dock. We caught multiple catfish off the dock and the bank. The dock is extremely convenient. Just drop in at clearwater cove which is maybe a mile by water, and tie the boats up. We had 3 bass boats and a 24' pontoon tied up the entire weekend. The house is nice and slept 8 of us comfortably. If you are looking for a convenient place to stay on the lake this is it. Looking forward to renting in the future."

  • Great Family Vacation

"VRBO is our go-to for a family vacation and again, we were not disappointed! From our initial inquiry through our return home, Sherry was wonderful in answering our questions about their wonderful lake home. The lake house was clean, perfect for our family of 4 adults and 2 grands (5 & 10). Loved the on-site ramp, docks and fish cleaning accommodations…perfect for all the catfish and bream we caught. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation. Stellar views of the lake, quiet, relaxing, lots of laughs, fun with our kids and grandkids…nothing better. Thanks Sherry & Tony!!"

  • Great getaway with great fishing !!!

"This was the 5th time I have stayed at this house and it is now an annual trip for me every year. The views are incredible, and the screened in back porch keeps all the bugs away!!! Bill and his wife (the home owners) go above and beyond to make you feel at home !! The river also offers some of my favorite catfishing in the state as well as monster shellcracker and bass. Not to mention you can run 20 minutes down river and catch saltwater species. This house is a fisherman's paradise, or if you just want a relaxing stay on the water there is always a good breeze blowing ! The house is always clean and ready to go with plenty of sheets and towels. Just bring your own toiletries, food, and fishing gear !"

Lakefront Central South Carolina Vacation Rentals

While many people think of a beach vacation or seeing the sights of Charleston, South Carolina for a vacation, they would be missing a beautiful retreat in the state, known as the Lake and Blackwater River areas. Lake Greenwood, Lake Marion, Lake Monticello, Lake Moultrie, Lake Wylie, Aiden and Camden are just some of the idyllic places to spend a week. The southern hospitality that is so well known will be in abundance when you stay in Central South Carolina vacation rentals. You can expect to find properties with lovely views of the lakes, fully equipped kitchens, and plenty of room for family and friends. These comfortable VRBO homes can accommodate large groups if you are looking for a place to host your next family reunion. There is a price range to fit any budget so come to South Carolina to indulge in outdoor activities or just lounge on your private deck.

Reaching Central South Carolina Lake Rentals

If you fly into South Carolina, you could arrive at Columbia which is in the center of the state. From Columbia, you would take Highway 20 to reach the vacation rentals of Aiken, Lake Murray, Abbeville, Lake Greenwood or Lexington. Then from this major highway, you would get on a smaller state road such as 25 or 221. These roads bring you close to Sumter National Forest. If you use Highway 26 out of Columbia going southeast, you will find the VRBO rentals in Lake Marion, Lake Moultrie, or Santee which can also be reached by using Interstate 95. You could even follow Interstate 26 into Charleston for a day trip.

Theater, Watersports and Horses Await Guests of Central South Carolina Lodging

Opera fans can visit the historic Abbeville Opera House that was built in 1908 in the Town Square. The theater has been restored and offers a broad range of performances so that you can enjoy an evening out from your Central South Carolina lodging. If Aiken, South Carolina interests you, there is a thoroughbred race track for you to visit. Polo is played at the track and you can enjoy watching the horses train for races. If you want to go riding, there are bridle or carriage paths that wind through Hitchcock Woods.

About 17 miles south of Aiken is a Living History Park that features buildings of the 18th century as well as a natural spring. You can bring a picnic lunch from your comfortable house as the park is open every day from dawn to dusk. Of course, nothing compares to beating the heat of a South Carolina summer like a dip in the many lakes that are in the area. You will find your luxury lake house has its own dock for you to relax on or park your boat next to. When you are ready to book your vacation, you can inquire from the owner if your rental will have kayaks, canoes, or other watersports equipment as some of them do. This only enhances the vacation experience when you can just walk down to the lake and splash to your heart’s delight.
