  • Happy Campers with Pup!

"Our stay at Carson's place was a tremendous one! The property is awesome with its beach, sandy bottom for swimming, great fishing off of the dock and perfect amenities. The cove was very quiet and peaceful and allowed for us to relax during our vacation. Our dog LOVED swimming in the lake and fetching his ball in the water. If you have a dog this house and property is perfect for you! The owners and community are VERY dog friendly! The house itself is very homey feeling and offers exactly what you need for a vacation getaway on the lake. Whether you are a couple, a family, or a group of friends Carson's Place is the perfect spot for you. The main bathroom was recently renovated and is very nice, while the kitchen is fully stocked and offers everything you need while away from home. The owners are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Kevin was very accommodating and friendly to both us and the dog.. If you are looking at a rental in Lake Marion and Carson's Place is available book it now! We will be back for sure."

  • Wonderful family spot

"We just rented this terrific home for a week in July 2014. The décor had been updated, the kitchen was very completely equipped and the lawn, dock and beach area were perfect for a family with small children. The house was clean and we had no negative surprises at all during our week. Just a terrific family vacation spot. Oh....and there are views of sunrises AND sunsets...a pretty neat trick at one house!"

  • It was the perfect weekend

"My husband and I with our three kids stayed at this Lake Wateree gem for a little birthday weekend getaway in March. It couldn't have been better- even the weather cooperated! Even though the inside of the house was beautifully updated and well stocked, we spent a majority of our time outside around the fire pit, swinging in the hammock or watching the colorful sunset on the deck at dinner time. My daughter says the big bathroom was her favorite and she would even consider sleeping in it the next time 😃! The house has windows and sliding glass doors everywhere so you get to see every part of the lake and have views from every angle. The couch facing the lake was the ideal place to start the morning with a cup of coffee. The location of the house seems an ideal spot on the lake for summer water activities. The owner was a delight to work with and was always quick with any responses."

  • VERY VERY PLEASED

"There is so much to say about this place that I don't even know where to begin! EVERYTHING was great. The house is very nice and the location of the house on the lake is awesome for fishing this time of year. The house is fully stocked which is a big help because it is easy to forget things while trying to pack for vaction. Probably one of the things that stands out the most for me about this rental is how Steve, the owner, has a book on display for you in the house that pretty much gives you any information that you might need to know. He lets you know of restaurants near by (and how to get there) same thing for grocery stores, gas station, etc. He gives you the numbers of local neighbors, fire dept., etc. I found this book to be helpful for little things and I pulled it out often. This might seem like a minor detail, but having that book takes some of the chaos out of trying to figure things out. Another thing that I REALLY REALLY love about this house is the huge window that overlooks the lake in the upstairs master bedroom. I like the updated kitchen, fireplace, cable, wi-fi, screened porch, etc. As I said, too much to list. The week that we spent at this home was much needed due to some hectic things going on in our life. We needed R&R just away from it all and we certainly got it here. Not to mention my husband was there for the fishing also and he had good fishing almost every day. We came home with a ton of fish to use for a fish fry later on. This is a wonderful place for any type of getaway. One other thing that I would like to mention is the fact that Steve is very professional in the way he handles the paperwork, the deposit return, and checking in on the arriving guest. My husband has told me to go ahead and try to get the house at the same time next year!"

Reaching Central South Carolina Lake Rentals

If you fly into South Carolina, you could arrive at Columbia which is in the center of the state. From Columbia, you would take Highway 20 to reach the vacation rentals of Aiken, Lake Murray, Abbeville, Lake Greenwood or Lexington. Then from this major highway, you would get on a smaller state road such as 25 or 221. These roads bring you close to Sumter National Forest. If you use Highway 26 out of Columbia going southeast, you will find the VRBO rentals in Lake Marion, Lake Moultrie, or Santee which can also be reached by using Interstate 95. You could even follow Interstate 26 into Charleston for a day trip.

Theater, Watersports and Horses Await Guests of Central South Carolina Lodging

Opera fans can visit the historic Abbeville Opera House that was built in 1908 in the Town Square. The theater has been restored and offers a broad range of performances so that you can enjoy an evening out from your Central South Carolina lodging. If Aiken, South Carolina interests you, there is a thoroughbred race track for you to visit. Polo is played at the track and you can enjoy watching the horses train for races. If you want to go riding, there are bridle or carriage paths that wind through Hitchcock Woods.

About 17 miles south of Aiken is a Living History Park that features buildings of the 18th century as well as a natural spring. You can bring a picnic lunch from your comfortable house as the park is open every day from dawn to dusk. Of course, nothing compares to beating the heat of a South Carolina summer like a dip in the many lakes that are in the area. You will find your luxury lake house has its own dock for you to relax on or park your boat next to. When you are ready to book your vacation, you can inquire from the owner if your rental will have kayaks, canoes, or other watersports equipment as some of them do. This only enhances the vacation experience when you can just walk down to the lake and splash to your heart’s delight.
