  • Excellent getaway with awesome sunrise and sunset views

"My girlfriends and I get together at least once a year to have some girl time. We have visited several places and this was the first one we all agreed should be a keeper. We plan to make this place our annual getaway spot. This home comes will all of the kitchen tools you could need. It is very spacious with comfortable beds. We enjoyed the fire pit on our last evening there. We can't wait to come back when it is not so cold. Our only suggestion is to add additional seating in the main living area. It was challenging to watch a movie together because the one couch wasn't enough for all of us."

  • Friendly House

"We are two couples in our 50's who all agreed that this was the most user friendly house we had ever rented. The house is huge, the kitchen is well stocked, with cooking equipment, better than our own. Everything worked, the furniture is very comfortable, and the satellite TV worked well at all the TV's. Our ONLY suggestion for improvement would be to improve the router's signal strength. The house is well maintained and Sharon responded as fast as humanly possible to our 'e'mails and returning the deposit. The walk down to the dock is well lit and so is the dock. Know this is very deep lot so the walk down is a bit long but not steep. Like the house the dock is set up well. Could use a net as we lost our first Arkansas blue catfish... is was too big to get up on 10# line. We bought a net. There is plenty of wildlife here. Deer, geese, otters, ospreys and numerous small songbirds. The biggest disappointment of our trip was Elloree. The stores are struggling or closed. The museum is great though. We found the best antiquing in Columbia as the Charleston area has inflated prices, but the house is an hour from either. You are within 10 minutes of stores such as the IGA in Santee, Santee General Store (a must) CVS drugstore and 5 minutes to the corner store in Vance. The Lone Star BBQ in Santee is special. We had so much fun there on Saturday night eating all the shrimp and grit we could while the band played. In summary, if you want a vacationer friendly place to relax this is it."

  • Awesome!

"This property is phenomenal. We enjoyed rocking chairs and conversation from the porches and fishing and relaxing from the floating dock. It is a very accommodating place for those who love kayaking, fishing, and boating.. spend a few hours on the river and then tie off to the dock at home to recuperate. The cottage is very cozy and user friendly. Can't wait to come back again."

  • Bachelor party

"The place had plenty of room for the entire weekend. We had several people and plenty of space for all. Beautiful views, and loved the deck. The house had everything that you could want or need. The owner was great to deal with. Everyone truly enjoyed the house and the time together."

Lakefront Central South Carolina Vacation Rentals

While many people think of a beach vacation or seeing the sights of Charleston, South Carolina for a vacation, they would be missing a beautiful retreat in the state, known as the Lake and Blackwater River areas. Lake Greenwood, Lake Marion, Lake Monticello, Lake Moultrie, Lake Wylie, Aiden and Camden are just some of the idyllic places to spend a week. The southern hospitality that is so well known will be in abundance when you stay in Central South Carolina vacation rentals. You can expect to find properties with lovely views of the lakes, fully equipped kitchens, and plenty of room for family and friends. These comfortable VRBO homes can accommodate large groups if you are looking for a place to host your next family reunion. Reaching Central South Carolina Lake Rentals

If you fly into South Carolina, you could arrive at Columbia which is in the center of the state. From Columbia, you would take Highway 20 to reach the vacation rentals of Aiken, Lake Murray, Abbeville, Lake Greenwood or Lexington. Then from this major highway, you would get on a smaller state road such as 25 or 221. These roads bring you close to Sumter National Forest. If you use Highway 26 out of Columbia going southeast, you will find the VRBO rentals in Lake Marion, Lake Moultrie, or Santee which can also be reached by using Interstate 95. You could even follow Interstate 26 into Charleston for a day trip.

Theater, Watersports and Horses Await Guests of Central South Carolina Lodging

Opera fans can visit the historic Abbeville Opera House that was built in 1908 in the Town Square. The theater has been restored and offers a broad range of performances so that you can enjoy an evening out from your Central South Carolina lodging. If Aiken, South Carolina interests you, there is a thoroughbred race track for you to visit. Polo is played at the track and you can enjoy watching the horses train for races. If you want to go riding, there are bridle or carriage paths that wind through Hitchcock Woods.

About 17 miles south of Aiken is a Living History Park that features buildings of the 18th century as well as a natural spring. You can bring a picnic lunch from your comfortable house as the park is open every day from dawn to dusk. Of course, nothing compares to beating the heat of a South Carolina summer like a dip in the many lakes that are in the area. You will find your luxury lake house has its own dock for you to relax on or park your boat next to. When you are ready to book your vacation, you can inquire from the owner if your rental will have kayaks, canoes, or other watersports equipment as some of them do. This only enhances the vacation experience when you can just walk down to the lake and splash to your heart’s delight.

Book Your Central South Carolina Lake Home Early

Summer is the prime vacation time in South Carolina’s Lake District. The weather is just right for lazy days spent on the water so it is best to book your lake home as soon as you can.
