  • Frippin' Out in October!

"Great time at Fripp, as usual! We have stayed at this house several times and always love coming back! It is a great place to "get away" and still feel at home. This beach house is comfortable, spacious, and only steps away from the ocean! We especially enjoy having the kayaks and the golf cart to use during our stay. The kitchen has everything you need for a large group, and the downstairs cooking area is perfect for preparing the local shrimp and oysters! The desk area in the sunroom turned into my husband's office on this trip so he could work and play! We love the front and back porches-hammocks are everywhere! This is "going to the beach" like you have never experienced it before. Thank you for sharing your special beach house!"

  • Happy family loved this beautiful home!

"My family and I had a wonderful week at this amazing house. We had 9 adults and 2 children, and we had plenty of beds, with 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Everything was nice and new, stunning actually. We had a large common area, plenty of dining space, and a lovely screened-in porch. Although it sounded nice on VRBO, it was even better when we got there! No disappointments. Only hitch was that the Direct TV wasn’t working for a few days – turned out that the problem was an only some branches in front of the satellite dish, and this was easily remedied. The kitchen was spacious and beautiful, and had everything we needed. We took turns cooking dinners, going out for dinner only once during our week. We went in to Beaufort, a cute town, and ate at the Old Bull Tavern, which had great food and service. The house has nice landscaping and backs up to a waterway. The many deer that just ambled through the yard and down the streets at all times were entertaining to watch. A couple of bucks decided to have a tussle in the front yard one evening just as we were trying to photograph them. Were they putting on a show for us?! The beach is across the street, less than a 5 min walk. It was pleasantly peaceful, no crowds in mid-September, and the weather was very nice. We went to the pool a few times as well for true swimming. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. We would certainly want to come back to this house again!"

  • Great location! Classic beach house!

"We just got back from our first trip to Fripp and loved it. We chose between 2 houses and were so glad that we went with this one. The location is IDEAL. It's close to the Beach Club (island center) and right across from the beach. The beach access is 1 house over and a very easy 3 min walk. You can walk in 5-7 minutes or cart to the Beach Club (pool, food court, tennis courts, restaurant, cute shop). Quick description: Fripp is a small (3 miles) island that is enjoyed by golf cart. There are amenities like pools, activity center for kids, 2 golf courses, live music at night, a marina and 2 (sit down) restaurants but it does NOT feel "fancy". The home is your classic "shotgun" beach house with 1 main living area and 4 bedrooms off of that main room/kitchen. The bedrooms have jack-n-jill bathrooms. The kitchen has been upgraded and there are 2 sitting areas in the living area so the kids can watch tv while the grown ups talk. Since our kids are older and sleep late, this floorplan was fine for us. If you have toddlers screaming and running at 6am, this floorplan might not be great for anyone wanting to sleep in. Again, for us, it was GREAT. Downstairs was a carport, laundry room, outside hot/cold shower and a storage room full of beach accessories. (No umbrella so bring yours if you like shade) The house was charming, clean and had everything we needed. (2 adults and 4 kids) We loved this trip and this home! We kept patting ourselves on the back for getting such a great house simply by researching VRBO. If you want beach access, location on the island and a traditional beach house, look no further. Thanks to the owners for being easy to work with. We will be back next year!"

  • The Time of Our Lives

"My family and I just experienced 10 days of absolute bliss on Fripp Island for our daughter's wedding. The Calypso was the perfect accommodation for family and friends, with spacious rooms, sweeping views of the beach, and a well appointed kitchen for hosting pre-wedding cocktail parties, and Sunday brunch. The owners had thought of everything, the house is laid out with common areas for gathering, quiet spaces on the 3 leveled decks for coffee in the morning or late afternoon naps, and absolutely beautiful bedrooms with private baths. The two bar areas on separate floors offered a space for lively conversations, or quiet intimate chats. The Calypso enhanced our experience and served to create life long memories! We are already planning a return next spring!"
