  • Excellent hideaway

"What an awesome find! Extremely clean and comfortable home for solo travelers or small family. Tastefully decorated for both comfort and functionality. I travel to Beaufort several times a year for work. I have stayed in some not-so-fabulous places but this is not one of them. I will definitely stay here again. Steve and Dana were very accommodating and frequently checked to make sure I had everything I needed. Everything was perfect so no complaints here. Make sure you book a day with Captain Steve for a day of fishing!"

  • Fripp With Friends

"Perfect location. All we had to do was walk out the front door and onto the beach. Would be a perfect spot for families with children. House is beautiful but in need of updating and frankly simple upkeep. We had 8 people and had a problem cooking steaks on the Weber charcoal grill it was so small. Everything was ready to check in but the cleaning ladies came early, making us rush to pack up. The guys played golf, needing amenity cards. I think they should be included with the rental. Otherwise incredible location and weekend."

  • Comfortable for 2, in a great location

"We stayed 4 days between Christmas and the New Year. The condo is perfect for two; may be a bit crowded with more as the sofabed is in the living room/kitchen area. The sofa is comfortable for sitting and there is one armless straightback chair to sit in, so again, two fit best unless the others are children. Furnishings are tasteful, though worn; the mattress was on the soft side, which suited my husband. The bathroom is large and has a huge shower. For use in the winter, the condo had good heating. We used the kitchen, which had just enough equipment to make simple quick meals; the knives need to be sharpened or replaced. Did our shopping at the Publix about 20 minutes away, between Beaufort and Fripp Island. The location was amazing: right on the water so within a few minutes, during low tide, you can be on the beach (at high tide, you have to walk around the golf course for access). Even in the colder weather, the beach is wonderful and the area is rich in natural beauty. The resort has many extra amenities (marina, golf, tennis, restaurants, etc.) but we did not use them, so cannot comment on them. Fripp Island resort employees were very pleasant and helpful in any interaction. It was amazingly peaceful and great for walking. The owner was very responsive and helpful in making the arrangements and sending information. We would return to this lodging. If you like photography, we recommend Eric Hogan Wildlife Photography tours, in Beaufort. Savannah and Charleston are easy day trips. We ate at Foolish Frog on St. Helena and at Magnolia Bakery/Cafe in Beaufort and enjoyed both meals."

  • We Love This House

"My husband and I have traveled quite a bit using HomeAway and are usually not disappointed. But this house has become one of our top five favorite places to stay. Fripp Island is beautiful of course, but this home made our stay even better. It is well equipped with a beautiful new kitchen, nice furniture and comfy beds and plenty of room for several people if you want the company. The home's entrance seems modest but when you open the door you are immediately faced with a wall of windows that overlook spectacular views of the marsh. We had plenty of birds and resident deer within reach and especially enjoyed one kingfisher that kept us entertained for days. Mike, the owner, was very nice to work with. We were looking for a marsh view because we were visiting our kids and grandkids in their RV on the ocean at Hunting Island during the day, so a marsh view gave us the best of both worlds. When Mike heard about our plans, he offered gate passes for our family to come over to visit with us, which we thought was a very nice thing to do. We spent time on the golf cart buzzing around the island, letting the kids run off some steam on the beach, then met back up for dinner. The house was definitely big enough to accommodate us all. The only downside was these two grands are toddlers so we were a little busy trying to stay ahead of their grabby hands. The furnishings may be best suited to older children than little ones, but that may depend on their activity levels and how preemptive their parents want to be. This vacation turned out to be one of our best. The time of year we chose was perfect and bug free, the weather was beautiful and most of all, the house was part of the reason it was such a dream vacation. We hated to leave so much that we kept adding on extra days. Once I got home, I decided to bring back happy memories by using a picture of the beautiful deck and marsh as my wallpaper. We really hope to come back soon. Randy and Ginny Haynes from Georgia"
