"We recently returned from a wonderful family vacation on Fripp Island. Fripp is a magical place all in itself but staying at this property made the vacation even better. Although the listing description of the property and of the house is accurate regarding the location, layout and amenities it really doesn't do the house justice. Everything about the property is so much bigger, brighter and better than what we were led to expect. With 11 adults and 4 children, ages 5 and under in our group, it was easy to spread out, find private space and still have plenty of room to come together as a family. The dining room was big enough for family dinners, puzzles and a game of risk. The house has everything you could need, from games, books, DVD's, beach toys, and towels. The kitchen is extremely well stocked, both equipment wise and even with foodstuffs and pantry items. Cooking was a breeze, we even used the crock pot to make meatballs and spaghetti sauce so that we didn't have to toil after a long wonderful day at the beach. There is so much to do for everyone of all ages on Fripp Island and coming back to the house was always a pleasure. From lounging on the back deck on the comfortable patio furniture, to exploring the book shelves, to watching movies, playing games and doing puzzles with loved ones.
We bought fresh shrimp at Gay's Shrimp Company, on the highway right before the bridge to come over to Fripp. (highly recommend) We would have like to have grilled it, but there was no propane for the gas grill. We called Carol who had been super easy to work with from my earliest inquiries all the way through the vacation week. Although she couldn't get the grill fixed she responded quickly and later in the week when we had an issue with one of the golf carts, she arranged for it to be serviced within a day. Having the use of the golf carts is such a great perk as well.
I would certainly recommend this home to anyone coming to Fripp!!
We swam at the pools and beautiful beaches on the island. The little ones spent a day at Camp Fripp. We did a turtle walk and an alligator walk out of the activity center. We rented a skiff from the marina and also went on a shelling cruise. Some of the group went horseback riding on Lady's Island. We ate at Gullah Grub, delish, hours 12-6 closed Sunday. Shrimp shack, greasy, wouldn't recommend and Dockside, which was good for southern (breaded, fried) seafood. Can't wait to return to Fripp Island!!"
