"We stayed at this home for a family vacation with our three young children. Staying oceanfront with three young kids (five and under) is so worth the cost. Being able to walk off the deck into the ocean (literally) is so worth every penny rather than lugging all your beach stuff on a long hot walk to the beach. That being said and reading the last two reviews where they described the house being in disrepair, I think the price is reasonable for being an oceanfront home on a private gated island in prime season. For a house that is a little nicer and also oceanfront, you could easily pay a thousand to two thousand more dollars or more. We found the house clean with dated furniture (couches especially) but overall we were very satisfied with the property. For the convenience of being THAT close to the ocean, and having a very reasonable price, you are going to have some tradeoffs. The house is in a good location, easily walkable to the pool. It was a little disappointing to not being able to walk on the beach in the evenings (tide dependent). The ocean literally comes under the house during high tide and there is no beach sometimes. This house has beautiful views, and the back enclosed porch overlooking the ocean is so great. We spent a lot of time there. Also having tons of beach toys for kids, beach towels, a high chair, an exersaucer (for babies) was really handy. I would add that the pillows and linens could be upgraded, but they weren't bad. The owner was very easy to communicate with, and quick to respond."

"We have been vacationing on Fripp for the past 5 years and this was our first time at this home and at this location. We LOVED the location being so close the pools and beach but also the fact that we had the marsh on the back porch and the golf course on the front porch. It's a quieter street without as much traffic (even during the busiest week of the year - July 4th!). For the fireworks, we were able to cut through the golf course and had a front row view. This was the first time we didn't have to fight the crowds. The home itself is beautiful and wide open with plenty of space for kids. The upstairs living room (pool table, TV's, porch view of the marsh) was our kids favorite and gave the adults a good break downstairs. The 2 comp amenity cards ($100 value) and the comp golf cart ($250-ish value) were huge perks. The owner and the property manager were quick to respond and great to work with. Thank you for a wonderful week on Fripp; we will DEFINITELY be back!"

"We were thrilled with our visit to Harbor Island. From check-in to check-out, everything was a pleasure. This condo is charming, homey, and spacious, with a very comfortable king suite. We were quite thrilled with the accommodations. We cooked a lot and found the kitchen to be perfectly appointed with everything we needed. The back deck, facing the ocean, was right in the middle of the condo with a lovely view of the Atlantic. We spotted five dolphins, very close to the shore, during a morning walk down the beach. The beach was never crowded, but the people were charming and friendly. Plenty of wide shore for Bocce Ball (provided with the condo). Gay Fish Market was only a mile or so away, several souvenir shops and another fresh market were less than a quarter mile away; supermarket shopping was about 20 minutes from the condo; and there were numerous fine dining establishments scattered in between. We spent a couple of days in Savannah/Tybee Island, as well, just over an hour from the island. We were very impressed with the laid back, relaxing atmosphere. The pass to Hunting Island was certainly a plus. Our visit to the lighthouse was exciting and the views were a delight. The beach on Hunting Island was extreme fun for us as well as our two teenagers. Lots of big waves and heavy currents! The beach at the condo had very calm waters. Overall, the condo was extremely relaxing; perfectly cool HVAC; the swimming pool was very nice (just around the corner from the deck or the front entrance to the condo); the condo had clean/hot water; and all of the amenities were in working order. Our wholehearted thanks to Barbara for a much needed, relaxing vacation in the low country of South Carolina."
