Great vacation home for a large family!
"We loved Southern Comfort! Our family of 12 (ages ranging from 4 months to 66) had a great time! The proximity to the beach and pool was great! The five bedrooms enabled everyone to have his/her own space, yet there was room enough for us to gather for meal times and to enjoy being together as a family. We loved renting bicycles and riding through the beautiful property safely on bike paths. The pool was very nice and clean, and the beach was wide and flat - lots of room for sand castles, etc. And oh, the porch - it was phenomenal with a constant breeze and scenic views of the ocean and property from every angle. We also appreciated that there were lots of porch chairs for us to enjoy the breeze, the view, and conversation! Jon Howard, the owner, is so good to work with. We were in Litchfield a month before our scheduled visit and wanted to see the property. This is a gated community so we couldn't get in without a code or pass. I texted Jon and he quickly made a call and we were allowed past the gate to see the property. The community is great to with a grocery store, great restaurants, ice cream and things to do only a bike ride away!"

"The condo was as advertised: nicely appointed, and clean. Matt was very prompt in responding to my questions both before and during our stay. The condo was in a convenient location for easy in and out of the resort. We discovered that use of the physical fitness facilities were not gratis...a $10 per person/per day charge, which was a bit of a disappointment. There were a few minor maintenance issues from renter wear and tear; Matt was on it!
Unfortunately, our stay coincided with the great rain/flood of 2015. We made the best of it, enjoying the short walk to the beach to watch the angry surf. Once the rain subsided we had a great beach day, a competitive game of putt-putt, as well as a nice day at Brookgreen Gardens. Several very good restaurants nearby (Perrone's and Chive Blossom).
We will definitely return to Litchfield By the Sea, and would likely return to this property...a very good experience."

"My family really enjoyed our stay in this condo. Had everything we needed except the toaster was broken and we couldn't find a cutting board. It was very confusing finding the condo the first time as there were two or three buildings together in the sandpiper A and not well marked as to the condo numbers from the ground floor. We also had a hard time finding how to get to the beach and pool area as it is not marked well. The pool is not the one shown in the pictures. It belongs to the building next door. The pool for the sandpiper A is on the other side of the building. Very nice pool with two hot tubs and a small kiddy pool. View of the beach and ocean from the deck is beautiful. Linens are included but you only get one towel, washcloth, and hand towel per person. So if you don't want to spend a lot of time washing towels, bring a few extra. We couldn't find any extra linens to put on the fold out sofa either. Loved the extra ice maker at the bar. It never went empty and we used it a lot. Loved this place. I would have given it 5 stars but wasn't satisfied with the linen situation and no good directions around the building. We had to ask people walking by to find our way to the pool and beach. We also got stuck in the elevator with a telephone for help that didn't work. Owner was following up on that one with building management to make sure it was fixed. Overall the condo itself was wonderful. And in a great area."
