  • Relaxing Vacation

"My wife and I spent the month of May at this condo and loved it! Pawleys Island is a small laid back community. Kind of reminded us of the Florida keys or the non commercial villages of Cape Cod. I challenge anyone to find a more pretty, family friendly beach than the one at the South end of Pawleys Island. You can body surf on the ocean side and raft or kayak on the calm inlet side.We are not golfers, but this condo is on a very pretty and challenging course. We brought our dog, and loved daily walks on the beach and around the golf community. We had one very minor plumbing issue, that the owners had fixed on the day that we reported it! I cant find anything negative to say about this pretty condo or the community that it is in. We have already made reservations to go back again."

  • Great Condo!

"This was our first time at Pawleys Plantation and we had a wonderful time. This is a very, very, nice condo that has everything you need. It even has a pantry which I thought was great.........so nice to have a separate place for groceries. It is so spacious and VERY clean, which means a lot to me. It's pet friendly too, so we were able to bring our 17 year old dachshund with us. We were, also, able to have our family visit (they too loved the place) and our grandchildren were able to spend several nights with us. The condo is so quiet and peaceful, just very relaxing. Nice screened in porch to enjoy coffee or watch the squirrels. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay. Cheryl is very professional and so very helpful and prompt in answering any questions that we had. I hope to stay here again. Thank you, Cheryl, for sharing your home with us."

  • PERFECT VACATION SPOT!

"This VRBO is 1st class! Very comfortable and clean accommodations-they have everything you could possibly need. Weather was not great but it didn't matter-this is such a good location-close to Myrtle Beach and Georgetown. So much to do-we ran out of time. We went to Huntington State Park and saw alligators and had fun going to Hammock Shops and eating some great fresh seafood in Murrells Inlet. Our favorite part of the condo was the porch where we sat every morning and watched all the early golfers come through while we had coffee-so quiet too! You won't be disappointed if you stay here-we will return!"

  • Bailey Irish Dream Place

"We enjoyed a wonderful ,relaxing family vacation. Plenty of room for our family of five. Excellent location with a short ,straight walk to the beach. Convenient to restaurants and the grocery store. The kitchen was very large with ample space to prepare meals. The screened rear porch became our family hang out while we played board games each night. Laundry room proved handy as we stayed on top of our weekly laundry and did not have to return home to more chores. Top notch place worth the price. We look forward to returning."

Pawleys Island Travel Tips

Pawleys Island Vacation Homes Make up the Oldest East Coast Resort Area

Within South Carolina’s Grand Strand is Pawleys Island, which proudly describes itself as “arrogantly shabby.” Pawleys Island vacation homes have been the most popular of Myrtle Beach resorts over the years. The beaches on which Pawleys Island rentals are located are mostly private and perfectly pristine. Surrounded by oodles to do, including golf, tennis, fishing, family entertainment, and tons of restaurants, it is no surprise that Pawleys Island has only grown in popularity.

Pawleys Island Rentals Are Centrally Located

Just 25 miles south of Myrtle Beach and 70 miles north of Charleston, Pawleys Island vacation homes are centrally located to two of South Carolina’s most popular destinations. In fact, many Myrtle Beach resorts extend to this area as it is known as the oldest summer resort area on the East Coast. It was in the early 1700s that rice planters settled the region by the rivers; each May they would relocate to what is now Pawleys Island. Based on this history, the charm of Pawleys Island rentals has only remained strong.

Do Not Miss the Ghostly Fun at Myrtle Beach Resorts

Perhaps because the area is so old, there are so many stories of ghosts along the shore near Pawleys Island vacation homes. One of the most famous local legends is that of the Gray Man. The Gray Man is a friendly ghost who is seen mostly when hurricanes are near and thought to warn the town of the danger. It is said that he walks the shores of Pawleys Island and the surrounding area when hurricanes are nearing. So, if you are into ghost hunts, keep your eyes open for the Gray Man.

You Will Never Be Bored at Pawleys Island Vacation Homes

Obviously, the beaches are a major draw of Myrtle Beach house rentals. However, there is so much more to enjoy when staying in Pawleys Island rentals. If you are into the nightlife, do not miss Broadway at the Beach, which consists of a huge cluster of bars, restaurants, shops, and theaters. If you are interested in aquatic life, check out Ripley’s Aquarium on Celebrity Circle; the whole family will love it. If miniature golf is your thing, you will not want to miss Mount Atlanticus.
