  • Wonderful Time

"We went to True Blue to watch a college golf tournament and did not know we were going until the Sunday before our Saturday arrival. Sal was great to work with and was extremely responsive to make this work on such short notice. The place was great, overlooking the 17th hole. It was clean, fresh, modern (loved the 50" TV) and well stocked with all you could need in the kitchen. If you're headed to Pawleys, this is a great way to stay. If you have a group of guys or couples who want to play golf and stay on a course, this is for you!"

  • Nice Condo and Beach

"Was the listing description accurate regarding the location? yes Did the listing photos accurately reflect the rental's appearance and amenities? yes Was the property clean and well-maintained? yes - but there was no vacuum Was the owner helpful in answering your questions or concerns? yes - very responsive to email Would you recommend this property to a friend or relative? maybe see further down What nearby activities, attractions and restaurants would you recommend? Hanser House, BEACH BEACH BEACH All in all I liked this beach and condo quite a lot. I understand why many people have given it 5 stars. I would have as well but for strangely rude interactions with Litchfield staff. First off there are lots of different sets of Litchfield condos, and when you have been driving 12 hours, its easy to get confused about where to go etc. That's why I stopped at the front desk to clarify what entrance, what building etc. I needed to go to. I explained my situation and the guy made a sour face and said "sorry but I can't help you if you didn't rent from Litchfield". I sat down in the lobby, pulled out the cell phone and scrolled through email until I found the info I needed. Literally I was looking for "turn left here, then you are in the main building at the round-about" type directions... This same stand offish behavior was repeated by the pool staff, the beach staff, the restaurant staff and the health club staff. I was sent to the health club to purchase my beach chair rentals because non-Litchfield renters can't do it from the pool/beach. When I got there (the second time... first time was slightly smoother) I was flatly refused. I asked if there was a manager or some senior person we could speak with - as I had made similar reservations 3 days earlier - and just then the manager walked in. They did eventually get it sorted out, but these were the sorts of road blocks I was not expecting in this stay. Perhaps it was because it was high season... All I know is that I used to work at Watercolor Inn near Seaside FL. I feel sure that in a similar situation there, we would have been told to bend over backwards so that visitors might be inclined to come back and rent from us next time. This was not the case at Litchfield and thus the reason for my 4 star review."

  • Great location...Wonderful hosts

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day mini vacation at this condo at Litchfield. Easy walk to the beach, great location for short trips to Brookgreen Gardens, Huntington State Park, shopping and restaurants. The grounds at the complex are nicely landscaped & maintained, and the unit itself was clean and had everything we needed to feel right at home. For such a large complex, we were surprised and pleased to find our condo quiet, peaceful and private. The best part of our experience was our interaction with the owners, Bill & Margie. They were immediately responsive in all communications and were so accommodating in allowing us to bring our little dog. They are true examples of Southern hospitality! We hope to return soon!"

  • Perfect Beach House

"Stayed here with some other couples and friends for a long wedding weekend. The house was absolutely perfect. The large, updated kitchen was perfect for hanging out and the bedrooms were numerous and spacious. The house is right on the beach and has great porches and decks on both sides of the house. The recommended linen service was very reasonable and worked out well. I would highly recommend this house for families or friends visiting Pawleys Island."

Pawleys Island Travel Tips

Pawleys Island Vacation Homes Make up the Oldest East Coast Resort Area

Within South Carolina’s Grand Strand is Pawleys Island, which proudly describes itself as “arrogantly shabby.” Pawleys Island vacation homes have been the most popular of Myrtle Beach resorts over the years. The beaches on which Pawleys Island rentals are located are mostly private and perfectly pristine. Surrounded by oodles to do, including golf, tennis, fishing, family entertainment, and tons of restaurants, it is no surprise that Pawleys Island has only grown in popularity.

Pawleys Island Rentals Are Centrally Located

Just 25 miles south of Myrtle Beach and 70 miles north of Charleston, Pawleys Island vacation homes are centrally located to two of South Carolina’s most popular destinations. In fact, many Myrtle Beach resorts extend to this area as it is known as the oldest summer resort area on the East Coast. It was in the early 1700s that rice planters settled the region by the rivers; each May they would relocate to what is now Pawleys Island. Based on this history, the charm of Pawleys Island rentals has only remained strong.

Do Not Miss the Ghostly Fun at Myrtle Beach Resorts

Perhaps because the area is so old, there are so many stories of ghosts along the shore near Pawleys Island vacation homes. One of the most famous local legends is that of the Gray Man. The Gray Man is a friendly ghost who is seen mostly when hurricanes are near and thought to warn the town of the danger. It is said that he walks the shores of Pawleys Island and the surrounding area when hurricanes are nearing. So, if you are into ghost hunts, keep your eyes open for the Gray Man.

You Will Never Be Bored at Pawleys Island Vacation Homes

Obviously, the beaches are a major draw of Myrtle Beach house rentals. However, there is so much more to enjoy when staying in Pawleys Island rentals. If you are into the nightlife, do not miss Broadway at the Beach, which consists of a huge cluster of bars, restaurants, shops, and theaters. If you are interested in aquatic life, check out Ripley’s Aquarium on Celebrity Circle; the whole family will love it. If miniature golf is your thing, you will not want to miss Mount Atlanticus.
