Perfect Home and Location!
"We returned yesterday from a week at the Anchor In. We had been coming to Litchfield for 25 years. Our family had grown and we needed to make a change. I began searching last August. Fortunately I found the Anchor In and it was available our week. It was just perfect for us. We loved being on the North end and the home is centrally located. We could walk down the path out back and be at the two level dock on the Inlet Creek/waterway in two minutes. Some of us fished, some rode kayaks(rented), there is a very nice canoe available at the house, and all at some point sat and watched the sunset. We then could walk out the front, walk right a little bit, take the path and be on the beach in two minutes. The beach...we all took the "short" walk to the left up the beach to the far north end several times each day, especially at low tide. The north end of Pawley's, looking over towards Litchfield and Huntington beach is unique and beautiful. As I said we went several times each day. We rode bikes early each morning and the Historic North End is a great place to look at homes and the creek. The Anchor In has a really large screened porch and large table where we sat each night, but the front covered deck and rockers is where many sat late at night. The kitchen is almost huge and the laundry room size and extra fridge was just a bonus. The 2 newer bedrooms and bath upstairs are really nice. The three bedrooms and two baths downstairs worked great for us, especially the back bedroom with the queen and single and its own large private bath. One thing that I had not seen mentioned in other reviews is the large size of the gravel parking area and the depth of parking under the house as well.
The best thing however, was being able to communicate with Katherine and Natalie the last 8 months and specifically the last month...what great people to deal with!!!They are super. Their home built in 1939 and renovated with additions in 2005 is steeped in tradition and our family loves that. I am not sure you can find a better family to deal with.
Lastly, I did want to comment on something that may be of interest to others. If you have an elderly or disabled person in your group...Google "Beach Wheelchair Rentals" Myrtle Beach, EARLY! we needed one, they are great. Eleven people asked us where to get it, several families borrowed it. It is a lifesaver and allows family members to be with you. They roll across sand easily...they delivered it. Thank you guys!!!"

"Nice condo for a family. Pool is close by and your and easy trip to the beach at Pawleys Island. If you like golf, True Blue is a fantastic course and you are close by to otheir great golf courses. Make sure you stop in at the Pawleys Island Tavern or as the locals call it the the PIT. Good food for a great price. Another wonderful stay in Pawleys Island."

"We loved Mace House. The property is well cared for with a dock for kayak and boating. the tides of the creek are amazing to watch as the different birds came and went. We even saw a bald eagle fishing in the marsh. The house is very well equipped and maintened. it is large and inviting with its 2 porches and the bedrooms are great size for teens to enjoy. Neighbors are welcoming and make you feel right at home."

"I would not describe this resort as your normal tourist getaway. It is more like someone's summer home. The accommodations are nice. It's quite and not very crowded at all. The unit was clean, but did not appear to prepared for guests by a professional service. While the decor was pretty, it was dated, but the unit had all the comforts of home. We quickly realized that Litchfield by the Sea is one of those well kept secrets where the population is predominantly white. While most people are friendly and quite talkative others stare making it obvious that they aren't used to seeing people of color. Overall I had a nice time. If you are looking for something quiet and relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of Myrtle Beach this is the place for you. No matter what walk of life you come from."
