  • Roomy and clean!

"My husband and I vacationed in this beautiful home along with my in-laws... There were 10 of us in all and there was PLENTY of space! The sofas are tremendously comfy to cuddle and sleep on! The beds were great...even the roll away beds (2) were comfy! There were 20 year olds sleeping on them and they were totally fine. I want to address the steepness of the slope because this was something that concerned me before I arrived. I'm from Forida, so ANY incline is a big deal to me, besides three of us are overweight if you get my drift. Yes, it is steep, however, we just made one trip a day! We brought everything we needed with us and played all day in the lake! Even the kids and dogs were breathing hard after climbing the hill, but it is a nice wooden walkway all the way. There are nice railings to steady yourself, and hey... Just take your time going back up! After all, your on vacation! I'd stop occasionally and admire the view, then walk a bit more. It I can do it, anyone can do it, lol. And the exercise is good for ya! The pots, pans, dishes, glasses, utensils, etc were more than adequate too. Tons of huge fluffy towels too... No corners cut with this house. I especially loved the extra seating outside the kitchen on the screened porch. Cool bug free evenings. There's even a tv out there! They really thought of everything! And the owners, you call em with anything and they get straight back with you. Its a safe neighborhood too. we left our rafts etc down on the dock and had no problems with theft. the dock stereo is a great touch too. about half of us were too chicken to jump off the top of the dock roof, maybe next time... I've rented houses all over the US for years and this is by FAR the nicest. Trust me, you won't be sorry!"

  • Perfect basecamp for hiking adventures

"My wife, our small dog, and myself stayed here prior to hiking up Table Rock Mountain and it was perfect. The home is isolated enough for privacy without being in the middle of nowhere. In fact it's only a 6-minute drive from Table Rock State Park! If you have kids you may want to bring something for them to do as the TV gets few stations but does include a DVD player. Personally, in such a beautiful location, I didn't watch TV at all - outside was ten times prettier. We visited in July expecting swarms of insects but were very pleasantly surprised to find next to none, save for bees and wasps who only bother adventurers foolish enough to disturb their nests. Though I didn't have a chance to check it out during our brief stay, there is a golf course at the entrance to the neighborhood, and we regularly saw other visitors doing for walks around it. The whole area is beautiful and serene. Overall, this rental is great for fellow hikers like my wife and I, but might be a little too woodsy for people accustomed to city-life."

  • Beautiful condo with nice views and close by amenities

"We had the opportunity to spend a 3 day weekend on Lake Keowee as we were on an extended road trip visiting multiple universities with our daughter. Having been to Lake Keowee before, we were looking forward to experiencing a fun filled lake front weekend, and this condo and owner did not let us down. The condo is nicely decorated and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our coffee in the morning overlooking the lake from the balcony. The leisure trail provided a nice path for a morning run and the swimming pool and boat docks were conveniently just a couple of minutes walk away. We had reserved a pontoon boat for the day, but the weather was nasty and we decided to canceled that. Luckily, the next day was nice and we did get a chance to explore the lake. There is golf available on the other side of Keowee Key, but unfortunately, we did not have time for that. It's definitely on the list for our next visit to Lake Keowee."

  • Great Secluded Cabin

"Husband and I enjoyed our stay at Peace In The Forest Retreat. It definitely is a retreat. . .one of peace and quiet, just as the title says. You are not far from many natural wonders. We took in Lake Jocassee, Twin Falls, and just done lots of hiking, up mountains, trails, and the lovely trails around the cabin as well. If your looking for seclusion this is THE SPOT! We stayed for 7 days, and enjoyed every moment of being away from the rat race of life! It was a much needed time away for us both! THANKS David and Kerry for sharing your retreat in the woods!"
