"What a fantastic experience!
My husband and I brought our two kids and three of their friends to this wonderful mountain lake home for a week of fun in and on the water.
The kids (2 teenage girls and 3 7-year-old boys) were delighted by the outdoor activities including swimming, hiking, kayaking and jumping off waterfalls into the crystal clear lake. We brought our own ski boat which made for excitement every day on this 7,800 acre spring fed paradise.
The home is equipped with nearly everything we required for a great family adventure. We brought our own x-box to entertain the younger kids on rainy afternoons and that proved to be a smart idea. We couldn't find a blender so we used their food processor to make smoothies and everyone was happy!
The kids loved the electric trams leading from the parking deck down to the house and from the house to the lake. We did require them to ride with an adult every single time, however, because the operation requires you to turn on the tram then hop on board as it is moving. It does provide a slow, peaceful ride to and from the dock, allowing you to absorb the serene beauty of Lake Jocassee.
The house is on a steep mountain gravel road and we probably should have done a little more research before trying to haul our boat down the road leading to the house! We recommend dropping the boat off at the Jocassee Outdoor Center BEFORE heading up the mountain to the house. The center offers a concierge boat service that makes your travels much more convenient.
We recommend this vacation spot for families, and with sleeping space for 13 or 14 people, it is large enough for a couple of families to vacation together. There are kayaks and paddles provided (& the owners were not even upset with us for accidentally bringing two of their life jackets home with us!) but our kids needed the excitement of a speed boat to fully enjoy the lake. If you don't have one, we would recommend renting one for the week through the concierge service.
All in all, this rental home provides all you need for whatever kind of vacation your family desires!"

"This was our second year staying here and we knew as soon as we walked in the door that we were in for a great time! This place is good for body, mind and soul.
We stayed on the water during the day, swimming and floating around and just relaxing. All of the water "toys" provided were enjoyed by all, especially by our 25 year old twin sons and their girlfriends. The girls took great pride in getting the hang of the paddle boards!
The grill works great, used it one night for chicken for fajitas and another night for hamburgers. Everyone slept well on the comfortable beds. The entire house is so comfy and cozy and is a welcoming place. The owners really have decorated it in a true log cabin feel. My husband just loves the way the place is built, it is very unique. The only complaint is that the time there went by so fast, wish we could have had a couple of more days to enjoy it. Hope to be back soon to this soothing little gem of a place! The Greenways"

"The lodge is in an excellent location secluded and quiet, yet only a very short drive to downtown Greenville. The staff at Ivy Acres is fantastic and accommodating. The property was spotless and well stocked prior to our arrival, and Chuck was very friendly and helpful through out our stay. The property around the lodge is beautiful and well maintained and the kids (ages 3 to 12) loved the hiking trails and water areas. We would highly recommend this property and will be staying again on our next trip to Greenville. Thanks again Chuck!"

"Your beautiful home was a wonderful setting for us to enjoy our family and friends during a recent visit to the area. The lakeside accommodations had something for everyone from fishing to swimming to tennis and morning coffee and conversation on the porch! We hope to make a return visit to the area and hope we are lucky enough to stay in your home. Thank you for sharing your home with our family."
