"Husband and I enjoyed our stay at Peace In The Forest Retreat. It definitely is a retreat. . .one of peace and quiet, just as the title says. You are not far from many natural wonders. We took in Lake Jocassee, Twin Falls, and just done lots of hiking, up mountains, trails, and the lovely trails around the cabin as well. If your looking for seclusion this is THE SPOT! We stayed for 7 days, and enjoyed every moment of being away from the rat race of life! It was a much needed time away for us both! THANKS David and Kerry for sharing your retreat in the woods!"Guest: DT Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 24, 2014View listing
"This was a very nice location. The house is beautiful, the area was quiet. The first night there we had a family of deer pass by the back of the house. The children were excited to see the deer. Even though the temperature outside was very cool we actually caught fish in the lake (small mouth bass). We had a wonderful time, enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this property."Guest: Jacquelyn W. Date of Stay: November 2013 Review Submitted: December 3, 2013View listing
"The house was all it claimed to be and more! It looked just like the pictures, was clean and well maintained. It really felt like home with comfortable furniture and plenty to do (easy access to the dock, kayaks, fishing, many board games, ping pong, tv and dvd's, deck with grill). My son never got bored for a moment. The views from the house were great but sitting on the dock was wonderful. There were comfortable chairs provided and the fish were jumping out of the water. Besides the noise we made the only sounds we heard were the birds. It was very relaxing. I contacted the owner for a last minute booking and she responded right away and exchanged several emails to work around my schedule. I highly recommend staying here and can't wait to go back!"Guest: Shelley Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: September 21, 2014View listing
"We rented the cabin for a week for my family to enjoy the lake. This cabin exceeded our expectations. Having the private boat slip to park my boat was awesome. The cabin was very clean and in excellent condition. The owner was great to work with as well. The neighborhood is very nice and I felt safe leaving all my boating stuff and fishing stuff down at the dock for the week."Guest: KenB Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 18, 2014View listing

You can save yourself the financial hangover by staying in one of the Whitewater Lake vacation homes or one of the quaint Upcountry South Carolina cottages, which are perfect for small families.
Instead of eating all of your meals in a restaurant, live like a local by shopping at the markets and making your own favorite dishes. Not only will you be saving money, but you will also be salvaging your peace of mind. After all, what is the use of a vacation if it just leads to more stress afterwards?
All of the Whitewater Lake vacation rentals and Upcountry South Carolina cottages come equipped with kitchens, and many of them also have laundry facilities. This can be especially useful for those who plan on enjoying the outdoors, rain or shine, and those traveling with small children. While doing a load of laundry on vacation might not seem like heaven, it's much better than facing a hotel laundry bill, so toss in a load of clothes, put up your feet, and enjoy.
