  • Anniversary Celebration

"We really enjoyed this home for our 40th Anniversary celebration with our children. The home had just the right amount of bedrooms (9 year old graddaughter chose a closet to sleep in and she thought it was great.) Master suite was wonderful. We really felt pampered. The home was within easy access of Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore, Jewel and Wind Cave, Custer State Park and Brule' entertainment. I would consider staying here again."

  • A FANTASTIC 4th of July Friends Gathering at Custer-Skyview Cabin!

"Just wrapped up the 10th Annual 4th of July Friends Gathering at the Custer Cabins (Sky View Cabin). This years gathering included six friends and from all indications everyone was very pleased! A perfect place to catch up after a year. The setting and scenery were excellent and very convenient to all that the Black Hills has to offer. I believe three of the five nights included dinner prepared on the grill (Thanks to the menu planner and chef among the group). It was a real treat to stay in this historic cabin and the the owner (Teresa) was so very attentive and cordial. And you don't even need an alarm clock the Black Angus bulls across the way work just fine!"

  • Four perfect visits

"I just arrived home from a week long stay at the Big Horn Lodge, and as usual, it was perfect. This property has everything except the groceries, and the views from the porch could not be better anywhere in the Hills. Cannot wait to go back."

Custer Travel Tips

Nestle into the Black Hills with Custer Vacation Rentals

If you want a stunning, private, wilderness vacation then look at Custer cabins; find the perfect vacation home for you and your family, and come to the Black Hills of South Dakota. Your cabin will provide you with all the amenities you need. Instead of staying in a stuffy hotel room somewhere in town, why not try a cabin, tucked away in the rolling hills and towering pines? With a full kitchen, bedrooms, and living space for the whole family, you may not even need to go into town!

Stroll Downtown Historic Custer

There are many fun and interesting activities in Custer, however, so take a few days and explore the historic town. Visit the Courthouse Museum and learn about Custer and the surrounding areas. Dine at one of the restaurants downtown or do some shopping. You can rent horses at one of the nearby stables, or you can bring your own horses. Several of the Custer vacation rentals have corrals, tack sheds, and stables available for your horses.

See the Black Hills up Close and Personal

There are many attractions close to your Black Hills lodging. Go to Bear Country U.S.A, and you will find fun for the whole family. You can drive through the wildlife park and see the native animals wandering free in their natural habitat. You can also visit Baby Land where you can see bear cubs, wolf pups, and more cute and furry young animals. Go hiking or biking in the beautiful hills, or get up early one morning and experience the Black Hills from a totally different viewpoint. Go for a hot air balloon ride and catch a glimpse of buffalo, elk, Mt. Rushmore, and scenic rivers and lakes. You can even experience an old fashioned cowboy chuck wagon dinner with great food and entertainment.
