"We just returned home from a great vacation in the Black Hills! My husband, kids and grandkids stayed at Dick and Bonnie's ranch and had a wonderful time! Their home is large, very comfortable and has all the amenities you need. There was nine of us (5 adults, 4 kids) and we had plenty of room to spread out and explore the grounds. The kids loved playing outside, and taking long walks along the lane. There were lots of "baby cows" which the kids loved seeing! Two friendly dogs, Tommy and Princess, accompanied the kids on a lot of their walks and adventures. This is just a great place to relax after busy days of sightseeing and activities! We enjoyed Bonnie's delicious rhubarb/berry jam, and they also provided 2 park passes to use, which was nice. If your family is looking for a comfortable, secluded vacation rental away from all the crowds (the nearest grocery store is about a half an hour away) this is the place to be! Thanks Dick and Bonnie!"

"We spent 8 nights in this beautiful home, using it as our base to explore The Black Hills and Badlands. The location is ideal. Just 8 miles from Custer, it's a quick trip into town. But after sightseeing all day it is wonderful to return to a beautiful, quiet location where you can just take in the sound of the wind through the pines, the sight of the wild deer and turkey, or the horses grazing in the pasture next door. There is a family a chipmunks living nearby and their antics are really cute to watch from any one of a variety of decks. The house itself has everything you need. If you want to explore the beautiful Black Hills (and you should!), and like to base your activities filled with quiet beauty, then this is the place for you. You won't regret staying here."

"There were 3 of us, a couple and a single. We each had our own bedrooms, with a full bath both upstairs on main level and downstairs where bedrooms are located. All the necessities were in the kitchen, and since we had planned on cooking, were pretty surprises to see lots of additional touches in the cupboard, even a crock pot! Ah and the location - we could WALK to the little grocery store, our favorite restaurant (Bobkat's Purple Pie place). The only disappointment (and obviously this is out of landlord's hands) was a few places that we were eager to try had already closed. Such a small price to pay for going out of season, thereby avoiding the crowds. And Julie (our main contact) told us about the begging burros in Custer State Park, a highlight of our trip.
We would all definitely recommend this property."

"Great stay in Cabin #1. We had 4 people (2 couples), some would say that it might be a little snug with 4 adults but it was actually perfect us. We utilized the grill every night having the grill there was great for us. It came with everything we needed and the things that we overlooked packing she had. Joleen was great to work with and was very prompt with returning our phone calls.
Cons about the Cabin:
-Shower was kind of tight.
Pros about the Cabin:
-Had everything we needed (i.e- can opener, zip lock bags, garbage bags, shampoo/conditioner, dishes, kitchen utensils, etc)
-WiFi was great
-Television had cable (that was nice having for the days that it rained)
-Beds were really comfortable (it came with extra bedding so that was very nice)
-Centrally located to all the major sites that we had planned.
-It was really nice to sit out on the deck and watch the golfers on the golf course.
-Close to running trails
I would definitely stay here again!"
