"It was a great house having all the amenities of a full kitchen, multiple bathrooms, linens, and laundry. The downfalls were the very very dusty fans and the squeaky and very uncomfortable master bed. The other beds were comfortable. We loved the porch that overlooked the 1880 Train. Plus it was our alarm clock in the morning. The house had plenty of space for everybody to spread out. I would recommend the house to anybody."

"We loved this place. As others have said, Mark and Donita really need to put some more pictures on this page as the interior and exterior both are beautiful. We were out here on our motorcycles and spent every day riding the black hills. The cabin and the property are wonderful. Secluded, peaceful yet close to town. We saw deer in the yard every day. The place is wonderfully equipped for anything you need and Mark & Donita checked in on us to make sure we arrived ok, had what we needed, and even provided some old rags to clean our bikes with. The kitchen/dining/great room was a great place to unwind in the evenings. If you have kids, the downstairs provides a great place for them to get away and do their own thing. The only things that I would have liked different was if the upstairs bedroom had a door (it has curtains) and if the bathroom and bedrooms had some kind of latch to keep them closed.
Thanks, Mark & Donita for letting us enjoy your little piece of heaven in the Black Hills. If we get back that way this place will for sure be the first property we check out to stay."

"If one is looking for a peaceful and tranquil setting, the Ponderosa Cabin nestled among the Black Hills and central to all attractions is the place to rent. Fully equipped and comfortable, this place offered our extended family the opportunity to share a wonderful experience in the Black Hills. Our grandchildren loved playing soccer in the enormous field while the adults enjoyed wonderful views from the front deck. The owner was very friendly and accomodating. Without reservation we would recommend the cabin to anyone."

"Our family had a reunion at this home August 20-August 24, 2014. We had 21 adults and 10 children (ages 13 to 2 years). We all had a ton of room, plenty of beds and enjoyed the amazing views. Our children had the opportunity to “swim” in the hot-tub, and TJ came over and assisted with letting the kids’ zip-line. We appreciated the time he and Kristen (Home-owners) put into answering all of our questions and accommodating a large group. The house was cozy, comfortable and did I mention the views?? The deck has an incredible view of the hills and you just felt at peace while at this home. With having the kids there, we did a lot of the site-seeing that you would expect (Watiki Water Park, Reptile Gardens, Bear Country USA, Mount Rushmore, etc.) and the drive back and forth was quick (about 35 minutes to Rapid City) so the property isn’t too far out. I would definitely recommend this home to any family and larger group gathering! Thank You for sharing your home with all of us!"
