"The place is exactly as described. I actually thought it felt a bit bigger than the pictures revealed. The furniture was very nice and the bed was comfortable enough. My wife and I used this place as a base to explore the Black Hills and take a day trip to Badlands. It worked great for that, and it was nice to ditch the car at night and walk down to Deadwood for some drinks. Some of the appliances were not working from a recent storm, but Mark was upfront about it prior to our arrival so we didn't bank on them being usable.
There is no internet at the house but it didn't impact us much. Mark was responsive to questions prior to arrival, and I didn't have any questions during the stay. The place was as explained."

such a beautiful place to get away from the big city life
"Taking a group of 6 teenage boys and 2 adult men on an adventure away from the city and without their parents, a right of passage experience as well as a cultural exchange experience here in the Black Hills at Shady Grove. This place is Zen. Peaceful, relaxing, spacious and accommodating with an abundance of sites, activities and attractions. Our hosts were awesome and incredibly helpful with pointing out to us where to go and how to get there. Beautiful wildlife interaction and scenery. Our boys want to come back, we all want to come back. Next summer we WILL come back and hopefully our boys will plant a seed in the heads of their friends and we come back with some new faces. Horseback riding, swimming in the mountain lakes, the historic towns, the scenic views of nature, Crazy Horse Mountain, Deadwood, Archery, just to name a few of the things we did. Thank you very much for such a memorable stay, a memory that will last a life time."

"We had a great time, and enjoyed the house and location. Only issue we had was the BBQ and stove did not seem to heat up properly. Otherwise everything else was as advertised. We would go back again. Thank you!"

"A beautiful home for our whole family to stay in. Had breakfast on the deck and saw whitetail deer. Loved the location in the woods and the view. Wonderful kitchen to make meals and large dining area to eat and play games. Would have given a 5 star rating if there would have been Wi-Fi and cable t.v. Had 4 teens who would have appreciated that. Those that slept in the basement were cool as their in floor heat was off. Temps were in 50's at night outside. All in all everyone loved the home and would recommend it to all families."
