"Great hosts and a cozy cabin to return to at the end of our busy days hiking! A well-equipped kitchen, lovely fireplace and living room area, a relaxing loft, and comfortable bedrooms all added up to a cabin that we would recommend to anyone. This was our first and hopefully not last trip to the Black Hills and having a quiet place to return to each day made it that much better! Our gracious hosts were more than kind and caring with our inquisitive boys and willing shared their horses and art with them. We loved that Donner was there to greet us in the morning and evening! Such amazing and stunning views only added to an already excellent experience! The views, tranquility, amenities, and gracious hosts made our trip to the Black Hills exceptionally memorable."

"This was a really nice little cabin. Location was great, very close to Deadwood. Secluded, we saw deer every night. Cabin was well stocked except for a stove, however, they had a two-burner hot plate that worked fine. My little dog was very content there. Nice and quiet but easy to get to town."

"We stayed for 2 nights and found the cabin to be comfortable and close to the major attractions. Our cabin was very clean, and the owners were friendly and helpful. Before booking, when I explained that we needed easy access to carry in my husband's oxygen tank, the owner kindly offered to help me with it. The small kitchen had basic kitchen items. There was a grill outside. Although we weren't there very much during daylight hours, we saw deer right outside the cabin and the little porch would have been great for relaxing during warmer weather. For pets they charge per stay not per night, which seems fair. (People with pet allergies should inquire about pet free cabins.) We appreciated their gentle canine greeter, Apollo. We would recommend American Pines Cabins to others and will stay again if we return to the Black Hills."

"This is a very nice cabin. It had everything we needed and instructions were clear. It is in a nice quiet neighborhood which was perfect after a day of site seeing. Cabin was about an hours drive to keystone area, rapid city, and hill city. Cabin was as describe and owners were easy and helpful to work with. The only down fall was no wi fi but that may of been a blessing, as we had to find other family activities to amuse ourselves. I would recommend this property to anyone in the area. The only thing I found not provided was a pitcher to mix frozen juices in otherwise stocked to perfection"
