"There were 3 of us, a couple and a single. We each had our own bedrooms, with a full bath both upstairs on main level and downstairs where bedrooms are located. All the necessities were in the kitchen, and since we had planned on cooking, were pretty surprises to see lots of additional touches in the cupboard, even a crock pot! Ah and the location - we could WALK to the little grocery store, our favorite restaurant (Bobkat's Purple Pie place). The only disappointment (and obviously this is out of landlord's hands) was a few places that we were eager to try had already closed. Such a small price to pay for going out of season, thereby avoiding the crowds. And Julie (our main contact) told us about the begging burros in Custer State Park, a highlight of our trip.
We would all definitely recommend this property."

"We had a nice two day stay in this cabin on the first leg of our trip to the west coast. It is a pleasant cabin and a good base camp for visiting especially if you are visiting in the lead/deadwood and spearfish areas which are quite close by. Its a bit of a drive down to some of the more southern areas like keystone, custer, mt rushmore and the others down there but certainly doable if you don't mind driving some. We saw custer park, needles highway, sylvan lake and pactola dam areas all one day and then spent the next in deadwood and spearfish canyon which is quite close by and is arguably the most natural and beautiful area in the black hills I feel. There is a beautiful falls recreation area near in spearfish canyon that I would not miss and also bridal veil falls. Also a fun free fish hatchery in spearfish that is fun, and the indian center which I can not currently remember the name of is really excellent and informative about indian culture, art etc in the black hills. The cabin could use some more comfortable furniture for the living room...the couches and chair were not older and could stand to be replaced, but I felt they were not too bad, and they looked nice and clean. The cabin is older but they have done a lot of nice remodeling projects so I felt it was very comfortable and would definitely stay there again. It would be nice to get some trees growing around the cabin to provide a little more seclusion and shade. Also,it is up a steep drive but is fine to drive in the summer, and easy to find with directions, and once you are up there, there are may properties up there and great views if you look around a little. Im sure it is a great winter area also but would definitely need 4 wheel drive for that type of weather."

"This was a really nice little cabin. Location was great, very close to Deadwood. Secluded, we saw deer every night. Cabin was well stocked except for a stove, however, they had a two-burner hot plate that worked fine. My little dog was very content there. Nice and quiet but easy to get to town."
