"We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to South Dakota and this cottage was an added benefit. We didn't know to expect such depths of natural beauty, changing landscapes and wildlife. At the cottage, we saw deer on a daily basis and had sightings of turkey and coyote. The cottage was nicely done with very comfortable beds and furniture. It included all the basic comforts you'd have in your own home. The wifi connection was an added and unexpected benefit. The location was central to all our planned activities. I would highly recommend this VRBO rental."

"We recently stayed at this lovely property for 4 nights while attending a family wedding in Rapid City. The home had everything we needed and more! We cooked a few meals in the wonderful kitchen and there was plenty of room for our family. Lara was wonderful to deal with, very accommodating for our check in and out and had fresh cookies waiting for us when we arrived. We would love to return in the summer to enjoy the pool. We did enjoy sitting outside as the weather was great last week. We saw deer every morning walking through the yard. Thank you Trudy for sharing your home!"

"Our second year at Elk Valley. We are a group of 8, including 4 generations with ages from 87 to 12. The house accommodates all of us with everything being roomy enough to allow for a walker and a dog to move with ease:) The "kids" enjoyed the basement with the ping pong and foosball. With a family room, 2 bedrooms and a full bath the basement became their own space. In the morning it's breakfast or coffee on the deck enjoying the peace and quiet and watching for deer. For the evenings there's a bonfire with hot dogs, bratz and s'mores! The seclusion is wonderful, yet only 5 minutes from Custer and anything you need. Carson Drug is a great pharmacy for any needs you have. The area has great things to see and do. We recommend Badger Clark Cabin, Custer Museum and Whitiker Jewelry and Antiques just north of Hot Springs. Be sure to check out the bison and prairie dogs as you go through Wind Cave National Park! Sylvan Lake is just up the road and one of our favorite spots. We fish it every evening! Allow time to just walk and enjoy the 13 acres with Elk Valley. Thank you Tim for allowing us to enjoy your place....another great year!!"

"We recently stayed in the cabin for three nights and had a wonderful time. So comfortable and cozy with everything you need to enjoy your time in the Black Hills. And meeting Kathleen and Wolfgang was a joy, we actually would have liked to spend more time with them. We hated to leave and hope to come back again this fall. I highly recommend Little Elk cabin, you won't be disappointed!!"
