"Fifty family members gathered from eight states to celebrate mother's 80th birthday. We stayed in three of the properties. Everything about it was perfect: the location, the weather, the accommodations, and the fellowship. Staying here is highly recommended."

"The four of us were looking for a mountain-top fall getaway and we got it. The views, in the morning, were incredible. Since we like wildlife, I bought some bird seed the first day and put it around the perimeter of the property. Within a day we had chipmunks, turkeys and deer enjoying the mornings with us.
Thanks to Delf, we found Lewie's sandwich place and the Chunky Chipmunk, truffles, to add to the adventure of eating. The girls enjoyed the local casinos, we ate at Kevin Costner's casino and bought leftover Sturgis T-shirts in town. It happened that Crazy Horse's was celebrating Native American Appreciation so we watched them blow-up a little
of the monument, which seems to be taking forever to complete, then free buffalo stew. On the way back to our mountain top retreat, we stopped at the Prairie Berry Winery and sampled some enjoyable fruit flavored wines.
All was a great time and our Fall geteway was everything we hoped for and more!"

such a beautiful place to get away from the big city life
"Taking a group of 6 teenage boys and 2 adult men on an adventure away from the city and without their parents, a right of passage experience as well as a cultural exchange experience here in the Black Hills at Shady Grove. This place is Zen. Peaceful, relaxing, spacious and accommodating with an abundance of sites, activities and attractions. Our hosts were awesome and incredibly helpful with pointing out to us where to go and how to get there. Beautiful wildlife interaction and scenery. Our boys want to come back, we all want to come back. Next summer we WILL come back and hopefully our boys will plant a seed in the heads of their friends and we come back with some new faces. Horseback riding, swimming in the mountain lakes, the historic towns, the scenic views of nature, Crazy Horse Mountain, Deadwood, Archery, just to name a few of the things we did. Thank you very much for such a memorable stay, a memory that will last a life time."

"Great location, just perfect to walk to downtown Deadwood. Very clean and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We had our 2 dogs and it was perfect to go back and forth to Deadwood and check on dogs. Very comfortable for us two adults and our dogs. Bed comfortable, kitchen had everything you need to make dinner and breakfast. A+ to owner, also my vehicle was parked on little driveway next to house off the street, perfect. excellent place to camp out while still being close enough to check out sites.....great time, definitely will do it again for the price. Owner was a phone call away and always returned calls with questions I had. A+ again to owner...Great Time"
