"This was a beautiful home for our family to stay. It was totally stocked with everything you need. Loved the quietness and seeing deer in our yard early in the morning. sitting on the nice deck at night and watching the stars was amazing.. we loved the location as it was near the Andy's Trails which we enjoyed and recommend to go. A lot of hiking in spearfish canyon and rented a boat on Pactola lake. The owner were easy and friendly to work with. I would recommend this cabin for a great vacation stay."

"First the area, you will find miles and miles of hiking trails through the Black Hills. Come and explore the ghost towns, back roads, and general tourist areas. If you like skiing this place is really close the Terry Peak ski resort. One of our many special memories for this trip is watching the street shows in Deadwood and the tour.
Now the place. While you have neighbors you really won't notice them because of all the trees and it is really quiet there. The gas grill is right outside the door and it's big enough to feed 12 people easily. The cabin comes stocked with just about anything you need in a kitchen and are used to having at home. It is really clean and everything is very well maintained. My wife and I couldn't ask for a better location for vacation and we will definitely be back."

Amazing location, beautiful house, a few updates needed
"I give this rental home a 4-star, because it is in an unbelievable location. The idea that such a nice house to vacation in is in such a remote area with water, electric and Wi-Fi is pretty cool. The views are great. The location is very private. House was clean and generally well maintained. It is truly a hideaway close to all of the Black Hills attractions.
A few things did not work for us. The Master bedroom mattress needs to be replaced. It is lumpy and lopsided, so we did not sleep well (which is one of our primary requirements when vacationing). Along the same lines, the layout of the house is not ideal for us. We travel with our 3 and 5 year old children. There is a Master bedroom with a door and an open loft above it with a futon on the floor. While fun and my daughter loved it, you’re basically sharing your room with another sleeper. The second bedroom is completely open in a loft above the living room with no doors. Our other daughter was disturbed by us cleaning the kitchen and being in the living room after she went to bed.
The house also does not have central A/C. It is has a few A/C units attached to the walls upstairs. The whole house did not get very cool while we were there in mid-August.
So great house, not so great sleeping arrangements. If you are traveling with older children, the layout would probably work better for you."

"The cabin was perfect for our family of 4 (two children, ages 10 & 12) for an entire week! The kids loved having their own loft and a space of their own, while we loved having our own bedroom and some privacy as well. The kitchen was set up beautifully with everything that we could possibly need. Cooking at the cabin and not eating out saved us a ton of money. We did bring a crock-pot along with us so we could have some of our meals cooking while we were gone. (I'd recommend stopping for groceries in Rapid City as that's the closest location with the most reasonable prices.) We had a doe and two large bucks (in velvet) come up to the cabin while sitting outside on the patio. The best part was the temperatures -- no matter how hot it was in the rest of the area cities, the cabin was always a steady 70*. The cabin has air conditioning, but we never felt the need to use it. Our only complaint, if I absolutely had to find one, is that the curtains are not very thick so the sun shined in every morning waking us up. We solved the problem by hanging towels over the windows in both bedrooms... but that wasn't the worst thing in the world either. Overall, we loved our trip and will definitely be returning!"
