  • Beautiful Home in a Peaceful Setting!

"This home is beautiful and a perfect place to come back to after a long day of hiking, site-seeing, etc. We were in really close proximity to Keystone, Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, and more. We really enjoyed driving Needles Highway, Iron Mountain Road, and the animal loop. We got to enjoy Bear Country and were lucky enough to be there at the changing of the trees in baby bear land. Watching the bears discover their new "playground" was a treat. We also had an easy drive to Hot Springs and an afternoon at Evans Plunge. There is a wonderful pizza place just a few miles away (Lintz Bros Pizza). All the shops and restaurants in Keystone are a very easy drive away. The home owners were very inviting, they were willing to answer any questions, the homemade rolls were appreciated, and they made sure that our stay was comfortable. It was also nice to go back to a quiet place and hot tub at the end of the day. This is a wonderful place to get away for a vacation and had everything we could ask for in a vacation rental. The girls loved having their own space upstairs with nice rooms, their own bathroom, and a beautiful view. We highly recommend this property!"

  • Mustang Rally

"This apartment was perfect! My husband and I attended the Mustang Rally in Sturgis. The location was so convenient to all the rally activities, as well as other sites the Black Hills has to offer. The apartment was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed for our week stay. We also had use of one side of the garage, which was perfect for keeping our Mustang under cover at night. The owners were great people -- they even took time to attend the car show we entered our Mustang in. We will definitely stay here again!"

  • The absolute best spot for seeing the Black Hills of South Dakota

"My husband, his sister and her spouse spent a whole week here in August. Very clean, and everything was provided: more cooking utensils than you could possibly need, a microwave, washer & dryer (and detergent), large frig, coolers we used to take cold drinks along for the day - everything. All you need to bring along is your clothing and toothbrush. The whole cabin is decorated in a rustic décor, complete with elk head mounted above the fireplace. There is plenty of parking, even if you have a trailer. Behind the cabin/house is a 40-yard mowed path to the Michelson Trail, and great Rails-to-Trails project that goes 109 miles. I walked most mornings, and saw lots of deer, turkeys, and one woman saw a coyote. The scenery is beautiful! The cabin is ten minutes max to Custer State Park, 15 minutes to Crazy Horse Monument, half an hour to the Mammoth Site, and about an hour from Sturgis. We were there the week after Sturgis, and all the shops in Custer had their t-shirts reduced quite a bit. Be sure to stop in at the owners grocery store, and right across the street is my favorite, "A Walk in the Woods", with the prettiest restrooms I've ever seen. The pizza shop right down town was terrific, with lots of seating outside when the weather is nice. The only negative was no internet, but my brother-in-law brought along a device that enabled us to get on each day. Good cell phone reception for Verizon users. Having two full-sized bathrooms was wonderful, and there was plenty of sleeping space for at least 7, not including 3 couches and two recliners. The folks in the community were extremely friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!"

  • Even better than advertised!

"This is the best little secluded hideaway in the Black Hills - without exception. The cabin has everything a family/small group needs, and it is CLEAN and WELL-MAINTAINED. Every year the owners add something new to the cabin to make our experience there even better than before. They appreciate us as guests, and we appreciate them! Sunrise over the quiet meadow is just like the photo - and then the wildlife starts to show up. This summer we watched a doe stand up and wait for her newborn, twin fawns to stumble to their feet and follow her into the trees. And all this happens within easy access and convenience to the many attractions of the Hills! Whether close-by, or on a day-trip adventure, there are all kinds of fun things to do and places to go - for children and/or adults. Keep your camera handy. And don't miss The Great Faces (aka Mount Rushmore)! If you want a break from using the cabin's awesome kitchen, there's a great burger and a pint; buttermilk pancakes or an Indian taco; or a trout dinner to be found at Lewie's, Cheyenne Crossing Cafe, or the Latchstring Inn respectively - all of which boast national acclaim. Our whole family, including the kids, has personal favorites at all three. We have stayed at this cabin several times. I guess it is obvious why 'the cabin' is our favorite place for making memories with our family. Thank you."
