  • A Wonderful Lodge Experience was had

"The Last Chance Lodge is a beautiful log home perched on a mountain side. The owners Randy and Liz are great people to work with. Their place is so peaceful and relaxing. I could spend a week there and not leave. There's nothing quite like an evening dip in the hot tub after hiking all day in Spearfish Canyon or around Devils Tower. We saw numerous white-tailed dear in their yard on multiple days, pretty special! Deadwood is a cool city with lots of history. Lewies Saloon is a must for a beer and a burger. Cheyanne Crossing for breakfast, the best. There are so many things to in this area and the Last Chance Lodge is a great place to use as your home base. I would highly recommend you consider reserving your next visit to the Deadwood area here. You won't be disappointed."

  • Repeat Customers

"We are repeat customers to this cabin due to the ease of working with the owners, the quietness of the cabin itself, and all of the amenities! We arrive and for 3 days do not leave this place!"

  • Fantastic, Quiet, Well Appointed Cabin!

"The description of the cabin was right on target, everything was very clean and neat! The cabin was tastefully decorated, we have rented quite a bit over the years and this was the nicest place. We slept peacefully and comfortably. The views are beautiful and so serene. We hated to leave! Wee would definitely rent this property again! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!"

  • Extremely Impressed

"This was my first rental using VRBO. I was rather hesitant but was looking forward to the experience of something other than a hotel or timeshare. Chimney Canyon Estate is situated on a ridge-top overlooking Chimney Canyon only 15 minutes from Rapid City.... but you have the feeling of having stepped through a door into the most peaceful wilderness setting you could ask for. We were met at the house and given the tour and shown how everything worked. The home was tastefully appointed in western motif - Native American art throughout. After a long drive it was dark and we had dinner in a kitchen that had everything a cook could ask for and then retired to the main bedroom - yes a waterbed - but not the 1980s type - it was very supportive...and another bedroom downstairs. The next morning walked out onto the wraparound deck and the blaze of red sumac and other orange, yellows and greens against the reforesting canyon hillside was something to marvel at. Some earlier reviews stated it would be nice if there was furniture on the deck. Was surprised to find several pieces had been added and this allowed for some nice breakfasts out there. The large expansive windows gave a great view from inside as well. The owner had a table stocked with all the travel info of the surrounding area you could ask for and next to that a telescope for stargazing at night. All the furniture was comfortable and the bathrooms well maintained with plenty of hot water. A garage sheltered the rental car from the elements. Within an hour's drive was so much to see that you easily could have stayed there three weeks or more. It was literally in the center of all the attractions and such a great place to come home to. Wished I had more time just to relax there. I can only hope that the next VRBO rental I am looking for in Maine will be half as nice. I would recommend to anyone visiting the area without reservation. Thanks much for making the first week of our vacation so wonderful."
