  • A Beautiful Mountain Retreat

"We rented Southern Cross for a large weekend, family gathering: 6 couples, plus 5 children ages 4 and under. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved that each bedroom had its own bathroom, giving people plenty of private space. The view from the desk is gorgeous. I also knew that some of our guests were not fans of winding, mountain driving, so the easy drive to the house from the golf course was a plus. A couple small criticisms: The main living room is somewhat small for such a large house and was very dark (the main light fixture was burned out and could not be replaced during our stay). Also, there were some small maintenance issues upon our arrival. While the house was very cleaning, there were a tremendous number of light bulbs burned out throughout the house, as well as a large nest of yellow jackets right outside the front door. The light bulbs were within the owner's control; the yellow jackets, less so. That said, Kelly and the maintenance staff were extremely responsive to our concerns and went above and beyond in addressing them. We very much appreciated their help. All in all, we had a wonderful, memorable stay at Southern Cross and hope to return again!"

  • Teacher from East Tenn

"My family and I had an absolutely peaceful and relaxing time at the Erickson house. The view from every bedroom of Norris lake is like heaven. At night it was so serene. If you like sunsets this is the place to be. It is VERY spacious and comfortable both upstairs and downstairs. Fully equipped with just about everything you need away from home. The deer are special residents all over the area, so don't be surprised if you see them outside in the yard. We had a ball watching them. There is a dock you can fish on or tie your boat to or just take advantage of the view from there. It was so nice. Overall, I personally found this place to be a refuge from the stress of teaching other peoples children who I dearly love. I was able to rest and relax in a comfortable home and take in an abundance of Gods' handiwork. I recommend this place for a great getaway. You'll be back. We will."

  • Christmas at Alpine View

"We met our son and his family on Dec 21. We travelled from FL and they travelled from TX. We arrived early as to make sure we found the cabin. It was beautiful outside and I was excited to open the door. It did not disappoint. 4 adults, one teenager and one 8 year old. We were in love. Very spacious and decorated beautifully. We had our week planned and we ate in mostly but we spent the entire Christmas day just hanging out in our jammies with a great fire in the fireplace. We also went into Gatlinburg and Newfound Gap. Pigeon Forge, Dixie Stampede and Dollywood. Of course we tried the moonshine samples :). I so enjoyed having coffee on the porch looking out at the mountains and how they change. The provided directions were perfect. We had a fabulous trip. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us."

  • Beautiful Cabin and Wonderful Stay!

"We just returned from a wonderful trip at this cabin! It had a beautiful view. The cabin looks exactly like the pictures show. The bed were very comfortable and the cabin is extremely clean. We loved that the cabin was a few minutes away from the main strip of Pigeon Forge but "up" in the mountains enough to get away from the traffic and see the beautiful views. The cabin is well equipped. We traveled with 4 adults and 2 kids under 3 and the home was perfect for us! There is so much to do nearby. We highly recommend zip-lining and Cades Cove if you have the time. The only negative was the dishwasher was broken during our stay. Some one came to fix it but by that point we didn't get a chance to use it. Not that big of a deal since we weren't using too many dishes and could easily hand wash them. We would definitely recommend to any one and if we return to the area we will be contacting the owners again. Thank you for a wonderful stay!"
