"I stayed with a group of friends and our two Corgis for a long weekend. Our goal in renting this particular house was not to visit any surrounding areas, but to have a comfortable place where we could relax, spend time in the water, have meals together, enjoy a bonfire, and play card and board games in the evening and we were not disappointed! We spent tons of time lounging in the lake, by the fire pit, and on the decks. We really enjoyed using the paddle boat and paddle board too. I was very happy that getting into the lake was easy enough for my short-legged, water-loving Corgis to hop right in. As another reviewer mentioned, there was a good bit of Elodea (harmless aquaplant) in the shallow parts of the lake near the shore and that can often harbor snapping turtles (watch your toes!), but we didn't have trouble with that. It didn't take much to swim past the areas with a lot of Elodea to find a clear space to float."

"Although this cabin was nice , my family just thought it was a bit tiny. Someone had wrote that they saw lots of bugs , that I can say I did not. There was an occasional bug that may have crawled/flew in but what can one expect its a cabin in the woods.
I would recommend removing the pool table and adding a bed upstairs instead. The walls are to close to use the pool table anyway. The hot tub on the deck was fantastic. Loved that I wasn't sharing it with other people like you do in a motel.
This cabin was nowhere near anything. You have to be prepared to drive a good 30 minutes to the city part. Very quiet area."

"I'm giving this cabin a 4 out of 5 simply because we had some needs that we had difficulty meeting because of the layout and location of the house. Overall, the house is very clean and well decorated. It's an older home, but you can tell a lot of work has been put into keeping it current. There are plenty of towels and other necessities. Also, the big kids love having their own room. The check in/out process is awesome, because we go directly through the owner. The parking is tight but there are three spots, which is nice.
The other reviews are a little misleading, because they don't really tell you that 2 of the bedrooms are up a set of impossibly difficult stairs. We had small children and a handicapped person in our party and these were difficult to maneuver, even scary at times. Getting luggage up there is a nightmare. There is a bedroom on the main living floor, which is good for handicapped folks, but it's weird because you have to go through that bedroom to get to the only bathroom on that floor. Otherwise you have to go either upstairs or downstairs. Our handicapped person also had to go down 2 sets of stairs to the laundry. The mattresses are VERY firm, which of course is a matter of taste. The other reviews also act like downtown is right out the back door. You certainly could walk, but it's too far for small kids and handicapped people. We still had to drive and pay to park.
Our time here was wonderful. The cabin has everything you need. There's tons of stuff to do in town, and in the surrounding area and this place is very convenient to that. It has a comfy and homey feel and I would recommend it to others."

"This is a great place to relax and listen to the creek. It is convenient to local fishing, hiking and floating the Hiwassee. The kids loved playing in the creek and running in the yard. Cozy place..."
