"This was our family of 4's first time staying at Grandview Mountain Cottages. We stayed at the cozy Honeysuckle cottage. We were able to bring our little dog as well. To begin with, the property that this cottage is situated on is absolutely breathtaking. Walking over the field gave a sense of being in the English country-side. I joked with my husband that I felt as if I had stepped onto the set of Pride and Prejudice. The cottage itself has every amenity you could possibly need. Nothing is overlooked. It was impeccably clean upon arrival and had the pleasantly sweet and woody, yet faint aroma of something we could not identify and I forgot to ask about. I'm guessing it was just the wood of the antique furniture and hardwood floors, but it was so lovely. The kitchen is fully equipped and we cooked breakfast and dinner almost every night of our week long stay except for our first night there, when Papa Phil made us his homemade artisan pizzas (did not disappoint!!) and later in the week, we ordered the pancakes and sausage picnic basket. So good! Everything was homemade, organic, and FRESH! We purchased our stay through a Living Social deal that included a welcome basket. It had homemade breads, fresh yard eggs, fresh churned sweet butter, homemade strawberry preserves, homemade organic cookies, chocolates, and organic Appalachian coffee. My daughter enjoyed walking to the farm house and popping in on Ilaeka and Papa Phil for "errands" ;) and so she went to buy a jar of honey that comes from their bee houses on their property and some extra homemade cookies. She also really enjoyed the loft with captains ladder and farm pulley for hauling things up and down. She found a secret door in the wall of the built in single bed with a mini-library stocked with many kids classics and nostalgic toys and nic-nacs. Everyone slept very comfortably on the beds. Weather was perfect! Campfires on the cowboy pit were great. Hikes on the trails on the property and to Upper Piney Falls were lots of fun. The waterfall at Upper Piney Falls was spectacular as there was a lot of overflow from frequent rains the week before. My husband, and kids brought their kayaks down to the pond by the farm house and caught fish after fish. The kids enjoyed horseshoes on Honeysuckle's lawn and were allowed to play ping pong at Pinecone Ctg since it was vacant the first part of the week. Ilaeka and Papa Phil are so accommodating! So much more I could say..to sum up this trip - P.E.R.F.E.C.T.!"

"Love Pine Cone Cottage! We visited in winter (had previously visited in the fall). Now we just need to try spring and summer. Fun hiking, fishing, visiting nearby waterfalls. Great place for two couples or a family to enjoy a get-away!"

"Every May my brothers and I travel somewhere for our annual golf outing. This year we decided on Crossville, TN, Tennessee's Mecca for golf. Not only did we play five of the most beautiful and breath taking courses, we stayed at this chalet within 30 minutes of every course around. John's chalet includes every amenity you could wish for in the most gorgeous setting in Tennessee. The owner, John Peters was the easiest and most accommodating renter...a totally genuine and nice guy. We will make this chalet a regular stop in our three year cycle. Thanks!!!!"

"We will definitely be coming back to stay. It was a well maintained and a very nice and cozy place. We loved that we could bring our two dogs with us. Our teenage daughter loved the place so much that she wants to buy it and live there!! The history of the mountain amazed her, she is a history buff. We enjoyed walking all the trails at the golf course and driving around and looking. A very peaceful getaway. Can't wait to return."
