  • perfect getaway

"Spent almost a week in this cozy, relaxed and very quiet home. First the bedding was exceptional. Down pillows and good solid mattresses. The 2 person lounge chair by the fire demanded cuddled naps. The kitchen was beautifully equipped with all sorts of gadgets along with granite counter tops, a sizeable frig and breakfast bar. A convenient laundry with new LG appliances were easy to use. Bathrooms were large and clean. Looks like a new stairway to the lake along with a huge deck next to the firepit will be a welcome addition for the less mobile."

  • House on a private cove and with amazing views, great deal!

"Our family truly enjoyed our time at this home. The house is on a private cove and has amazing views. The house is well equipped, we was ready to have a good time once we showed up. If you are looking for lake activities or just want to relax this house is it. Easy drive for us to spend a day at Dollywood, Dolly Splash Country and Gatlinburg. The dock was perfect for us to bring our jet skies and for fishing. The 9 days flew by because we enjoyed ourselves so much. Thank you for sharing your home with us."

  • The name fits

"Peacewood is just that.... very peaceful. Located at the top of a hill, it offers privacy and incredible views. The cabin was spotless when we arrived and is very comfortable. It sleeps at least 10 people, though we enjoyed the cabin just for the two of us. The kitchen was fully stocked with enough pots, pans and cooking utensils. The knives could be sharper, but we managed. The living room was very comfortable. The homeowners did let us know that the driveway was best suited to 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive. They weren't kidding. It starts out as gravel then becomes paved. If you don't have 4 wheel drive, you need to get a running start. The screened porch is wonderful with breezes that blow right through. Very relaxing. It is quite a winding road (as are most in this area) to get back to the property, but it is still conveniently located. The cabin has a hot tub which we enjoyed every day, sometimes twice a day. There are plenty of opportunities for bird watching. We found binoculars in the hall closet and we were blessed with a bald eagle flyover one night. A bird book is in the cabin to help you identify those that you don't see very often. There are many books and pamphlets to peruse to plan your day, including a great book on hiking trails of the Smokey Mountains. If the trail is listed as strenuous, it is. We attempted a walk on Rainbow Falls trail, but only made it one mile before turning back. However, we were limited by recent health issues. If you are active and healthy, you won't have any issues. After our many trips to East Tennessee we finally enjoyed a day at Dollywood (expensive but fun) and the Biltmore in North Carolina. That was about an hour and 15 minute trip and well worth it. We highly recommend the Biltmore. Take 25/70 to Ashville rather than I40. It is a more scenic, less stressful route. We have two negatives...The water smells of sulpher. Very unpleasant, especially in the shower. We were glad that we packed plenty of bottled water for making coffee or drinking. The mattress on the king bed in the master bedroom was very uncomfortable. As a person with a chronic lower back issue, I did not sleep well at all. One side of the bed slopes to the edge and it is just not supportive at all. It definitely needs to be replaced or I would recommend that guests bring a thick foam mattress topper. The positives far outweigh the negatives, but for these reasons, we give it 4 stars rather than 5."

  • The most amazing property!

"My husband and I spent several days in this cabin. Location is perfect...stunning views, peaceful and quiet, yet close enough to PF/Gatlinburg. The property is spotless clean, stocked with all the basics, and then some. Kitchen is very well stocked for cooking. We enjoyed our meals on the screened in porch, which was sooo nice! I've stayed in many cabins in the area and this one is my favorite! The owners pay such specific attention to detail to ensure you have a relaxing and convenient stay. So thoughtful."
