"We had a wonderful time in the Smokies and the Gatlinburg area. This home is up a very steep hill. We planned our days so we only had to make the climb only once a day. The chalet had some repairs being done before we got there, but they didn't interrupt our stay. When the repairs are all completed, (especially the first floor bath tub) the home will be even more comfortable.
The views are amazing of the mountains and twinkling lights of Gatlinburg. We also saw a black bear family checking out the neighborhood. We kept the trash indoors so not to keep mama and her three cubs around the house. One day a bear got right up to our car as we were getting out. After that we were even more cautious.
This pet friendly chalet will be on our lists for future visits."

"I found the cabin during an internet search while trying to find a vacation destination for our family to celebrate our parents' 50th wedding anniversary. The owner was great with communications throughout the whole process, and ultimately, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Buckhead Lodge! Our group consisted of 28 people, ranging in age from 11 months to 72 years old. The cabin offered plenty of space for everyone and the location provided so many options for activities. The views have been mentioned many times- they are truly incredible! The theater room was a big hit with everyone and the game room saw lots of action too. The deck was in nearly constant use just for relaxing and enjoying the view and quite a few enjoyed the hot tub as well. There are a lot of stairs depending on which floor your room is- we were lucky to have kids to send up and down :) The parking took a little while to figure out- the driveway is steep! Luckily, the cabin next door was unoccupied quite a bit of the time and when occupied the people were OK with our overflow parking there. If you're not used to mountain roads, the drive up to the cabin can be a little nerve wracking at first too, but definitely got easier through our stay. Some of the activities we enjoyed were Dollywood, Dixie Stampede, Cade's Cove (a few of us saw bears there) hiking, Mountain coaster, horseback riding, the Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts loop, the Titanic, and my brother in law took his boat out on Douglas Lake (even saw a Bald Eagle). There was so much to do, and after surveying the family, the general consensus was that they would come back in the future!
Our entire family had a memorable vacation with tons of pictures of the gorgeous scenery- thank goodness for digital cameras! :)"

"We just left BMC after spending the 4th of July weekend and week there. This place has it all as the title says. Others mentioned the need for updating but you aren't going to get granite countertops and hardwood floors at this value. Plus, they aren't needed. We had expected our kids to come visit but they didn't so my wife and I had the whole place to ourselves and we did not feel overwhelmed with the size of the place. It was very clean, you walk in and your are immediately met with the view of the mountains out the wall of windows. We got to see a momma bear and her cub and was entertained daily by the neighborhood bunny. You are at the top of the mountain and the views are what you expect. The owners provide plenty of towels, kitchen utensils, washing powder, and linens. Best of any cabin we've stayed at. The drive up is interesting to say the least. You would want 4WD and/or chains on snowy days I'm sure. Location was perfect, behind the Gatlinburg Visitors Center on the road between PF and GB. Easy access to the National Park. All in all, a very nice place to stay, the owners were great to work with, instructions to the place were perfect and we had almost perfect weather for the 8 days we stayed there. The first cabin/chalet my wife said she would rent again. Surprised they have any openings as this is quite a secret. You will not be disappointed."
