  • Wonderful couple's get-away

"The chalet was a perfect get-away for my wife and me. It’s a bit of a harrowing drive up the mountainside the first time you do it, but it’s the price you pay for a wonderful view, quiet and privacy. The chalet was clean, well-equipped and surprisingly roomy for the price. The staff was very accommodating. The sunrise over the mountain from the deck was gorgeous, and evenings in the hot tub were serene and soothing after a day of hiking or biking in the national park. We also preferred the location because you come down the mountain to the best end of Gatlinburg, right at the entrance of the national park (and far from the hectic and gaudy Pigeon Forge). We’d definitely stay there again."

  • Outstanding Place to Stay

"We had a small reunion (3 families) in Gatlinburg and stayed at this awesome 'cabin' not far from downtown. The fact that it had 3 full bathrooms (plus a half-bath downstairs) made it absolutely ideal for us all to stay in one place rather than getting 3 hotel rooms or separate cabins. It was perfectly decorated and furnished for comfort and fun. The kids enjoyed the foosball and billiards, and the adults enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. If you follow the directions they give you when you book it, it is a very easy to follow and straightforward drive from the end of the downtown strip. Just look for the mailbox shaped like a fish! We found a great pizza place down the road, too -- Volunteer Pizza -- and they deliver to the cabin. It doesn't have WiFi, but that's about the only negative we could find for this awesome property. Luckily most of us had 4G service on our phones, so it didn't really matter. We'll definitely come back here to stay on our next trip to Gatlinburg."

  • Great Weekend Away

"We are just returning from a great weekend at The Gingerbread House. The girls loved the hot tub and pool table. The television in the family room had been moved from the mantle (bad placement was mentioned in another review) and was in the perfect place for viewing. The hot tub was already warm for us. The setting was perfect for spending the rainy weekend on the covered porch swing. I did text the property manager that I noticed someone had nailed a board plank walkway from the ground to the hot tub deck and placed a concrete block as a step possibly. She replied that it will be removed. There are a few minor things I care mention that could be improved are there was dog or cat hair EVERYWHERE, there is thick dust build up and cobwebs as well as thick dust on the AC vents, sleeps 4 but only 2 washcloths were furnished, the stairwell railing is really loose, and the downstairs deadbolt wouldn't lock."

  • Love this cabin!

"We love this cabin! The back yard is great for quiet evenings away from the hustle and bustle of downtown."
