  • Enjoyed our stay!

"My boyfriend and I stayed here on 4/22-4/25. I booked the cabin 4 months in advance and the owner, Craig, was always courteous and prompt about responding to any emails/questions/concerns. Great customer service, above and beyond. We were very pleased with the cabin. Great location between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and we had a great vacation. We would definitely come back again."

  • Truly a mistress, our home away from home!

"Actually, better than home. We loved this cabin from the very moment we set foot in the door. It was cozy, well kept, wonderfully decorated, and perfectly located at the top of a mountain. Chancy and Bonnie were super-friendly and excellent to deal with. We had a small issue with one bedroom TV and they came out and fixed it right away. The hot tub was awesome. The jacuzzi was awesome. The WiFi worked great. The kitchen had everything we needed. This cabin is perfectly located - 6 minutes up the mountain (Chancy provided me with an awesome map as the roads are a bit twisty and confusing) and only minutes to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. (I recommend getting your groceries in Pigeon Forge at Foodland City on the way in). My family was very, very sad to leave at the end of our trip. At the end of our first day there, we had already decided to come back to Tennessee the following spring and stay at The Mistress."

  • Quaint, Peaceful!

"My husband and I rented this cabin for our honeymoon. I must say, this cabin is wonderful! My only complaint is I wish we had more time to just enjoy the cabin itself! The hot tub was fantastic! Both TVs worked, we had some rainy weather so it went out for a period of time, but once it clear d the signal was restored and worked perfectly!! The wifi worked as well for our devices. It was extremely clean! The jacuzzi tub was fantastic. There was some low water pressure for the tub, but that's nothing to complain about! The bed did have a dip, but we slept just fine! The porch was beautiful!! We had a raccoon come up one night while my husband was cooking, but he it didn't stay long. It took a while to get used to the mountain driving, but I mean we're louisianians to we're pretty flat down here! I recommend your first trip to the cabin he in the daytime, especially if it's your first time. We loved it so much, we bought a lottery ticket, with hopes of winning so we could stay! Unfortunately. We didn't win! Haha We will most definitely be back!!! We had a GREAT time!!!!"

  • Comfort on vacation

"We've rented a lot of cabins in the Smokies over the years. Most of them look a little tired but are still OK. Sunset Lodge, though not huge, was by far the nicest one we've ever stayed in. The extra decorating touches the owners have put into this cabin give it such a homey feeling. We also prefer to rent directly from the owner rather than property management companies. We didn't go to do all the tourist stuff. We went to spend time together as a family over Thanksgiving, hit some of our favorite spots and just relax so we spent a lot of time cooking, relaxing in the hot tub, watching football etc. It snowed a little on Thanksgiving Day which we loved. The beds were ultra comfortable. My little dog was even comfortable (we never left her alone though.). Wifi worked great as did cable TV. Nothing like snuggling up to the gas fireplace, watching the Macy's Day parade with a turkey in the oven and the scenery of the Smokies. It was a little hard to find after dark and our GPS's tended to disagree but we always found it eventually. There are some steep roads in that area. I recommend coming in during daylight the first time. I hope we can go and stay there again on our next trip. Thank you Carolyn for the swift email responses and hospitality. You're very fortunate to have such a lovely vacation home."
