  • Enjoyed our stay!

"Great location, close to all the attractions of both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but still private enough for your mountain getaway. Well appointed cabin which has everything you need for a very enjoyable stay in the Great Smoky Mountains. Would highly recommend this cabin to family and friends!"

  • Loved it!!

"My husband and I just spent a week at Honey Bear for our honeymoon and couldn't have been more pleased. It looked just like the pictures and everything listed as being there was. It was very clean and we had zero issues. We would recommend this cabin to anyone and everyone. The owner was very quick to respond to the few questions I had leading up to our stay. You will not be disappointed. Thank you!"

  • Comfort on vacation

"We've rented a lot of cabins in the Smokies over the years. Most of them look a little tired but are still OK. Sunset Lodge, though not huge, was by far the nicest one we've ever stayed in. The extra decorating touches the owners have put into this cabin give it such a homey feeling. We also prefer to rent directly from the owner rather than property management companies. We didn't go to do all the tourist stuff. We went to spend time together as a family over Thanksgiving, hit some of our favorite spots and just relax so we spent a lot of time cooking, relaxing in the hot tub, watching football etc. It snowed a little on Thanksgiving Day which we loved. The beds were ultra comfortable. My little dog was even comfortable (we never left her alone though.). Wifi worked great as did cable TV. Nothing like snuggling up to the gas fireplace, watching the Macy's Day parade with a turkey in the oven and the scenery of the Smokies. It was a little hard to find after dark and our GPS's tended to disagree but we always found it eventually. There are some steep roads in that area. I recommend coming in during daylight the first time. I hope we can go and stay there again on our next trip. Thank you Carolyn for the swift email responses and hospitality. You're very fortunate to have such a lovely vacation home."

  • Nice but could use a little "love"

"I was very happy with how clean the cabin was when we arrived. The only complaint I had was the cabin could use some fixing up. The fuzzball table had broken handles, a few lamp shades were broken and light above the sink didn't light to name of few things. I agree with other reviews that the upstairs bed in the loft was good for a child and the second bed up there (actually a cot) was too small for an adult (only a small child) and it was right by a window without a curtain. The heart-shaped tub in the loft area was pretty rusted/warn. I would say this cabin is better for 4 considering the size of the beds and that there was only 4 chairs around the kitchen table. Nonetheless, we had a great time and really enjoyed our stay."
