  • A great place for our family reunion!

"We gathered here from three different states and one Canadian Province for a family reunion and it was the perfect place. The 6 bedrooms allowed us all to have privacy and time away from the family. The "suite" at the top of the house we gave over to my sister and her fiance and they really enjoyed the private deck and the Jacuzzi. My folks, who have some mobility issues, really appreciated the ramp from the parking lot and that so much could be done on the main floor, as well as the handicapped-accessible bathroom in their room on that floor. The kids did really well in the queen-sized bunk beds, too! All bedrooms have their own bathroom with shower and there's an additional bathroom off the main floor living room. The upstairs living area, dining, and cooking area is where most of us spent the time together, but the downstairs offered a really nice TV and more places to sit. The pool table was a nice addition and the full bar space came in handy for storing more things to drink to have close to hand. The wrap-around decks allowed for plenty of sitting and photo opportunities as we took in great weather (made all the nicer by being such a contrast to the cold and snow we'd left behind). Great views, a hot tub, and a porch swing. Only about 30 minutes from the (sprawling, touristy, loud, crowded) town of Gatlinburg, and about the same from some really nice hiking in Smoky Mountains National Forest. Believe the owner when she says that the GPS doesn't have the right maps for the mountain! We had a bit of trouble finding the place at first, but once there, we had no trouble getting back. The only downside is that the place isn't exactly isolated, with several other rentals within a stone's throw, each of which seemed to choose a different night to party until well after midnight. But that seems like it would be the case pretty much anywhere in this area, so don't let that deter you. A wonderful place, perfect for what we wanted."

  • Great Cabin!

"My husband and I recently stayed at Bearway to Heaven for 4 nights as our babymoon / first anniversary trip. Despite the extreme cold temperatures that corresponded with our stay, we had a wonderful trip! Everything about the cabin was perfect! We loved how conveniently located it was to everything, while still being secluded up in the mountains. We look forward to visiting again when the weather is warmer and with our new little one in tow! Thanks Glenn and Vickie for a lovely stay!"

  • Great Family Vacation Cabin

"Located less than 15 minutes from Gatlinburg, but in a secluded and serene setting on the river. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are spacious and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook up a storm. That included steaks on the gas grill, smores in the outdoor fireplace and hearty breakfasts in the kitchen. The kids (ages 1 -5) LOVED crawling though the tunnels, and 2 of them slept in the cubbies. We thought of this cabin as "weather insurance" since there is so much to do if your regular plans get rained out: movies on the giant screen, pool table, card table, Ms. Pac Man (let it warm up, it works), air hockey, video games and of course the swim spa. The skee-ball is missing the electronics and the pinball costs 50 cents/play. Come on down and enjoy the peaceful sound of the river and all the Smokies have to offer. Would definitely stay here again."

  • Great get away

"Loved the location of this place, we didn't have to drive up some winding twisting hill side to find it and it was easy access to everything we wanted to do in Gatlinburg. It had all the conveniences of home and was very comfortable for our family of five. My son loved walking through the creek and playing in the water. It was nice to have the space to spread out and not feel cramped in a hotel room. It is located next to the trolley lot but the yard is screened with a fence so you really don't notice it and it keeps the pass through/drive by traffic down so we didn't have to worry about the kids being outside. I really liked that the cabin was located real close to the bypasses so we didn't have to hit all the lights when we wanted to go someplace. There a bunch of great little restaurants close by that we probably wouldn't have found if we had stayed somewhere else; more of the mom and pops that are not quite as busy but with excellent service and food choices. Great job on the recent updates and new hardwood. This is a must for us wherever we stay. We've already told our friends about this place and will definitely consider it for out next trip to Smokies."
