  • Exceeded Expectations

"What a wonderful vacation! My family of 13 stayed at this house for seven days during our annual family vacation. This was our first time in Gatlinburg and our first time staying at Bearhart Lodge. When we arrived we were surprised at how large the cabin was. It was everything as described on VRBO and more. Frankly, the pictures don't do it justice. Each bedroom was decorated lovely and had a king size bed with a private bath. Who could ask for anything more? The air hockey, pool table and hot tub were all in working order and the kids spent most of their time downstairs taking advantage of them. The kitchen was adequately stocked and fresh linens were provided. The driveway was a little steep, but certainly manageable. We quickly learned to drive past the driveway, turn around and drive straight in. On occasion, we backed in so we could pull straight out. We had five cars and a trailer and had enough parking for all. It is a ten minute drive up the mountain from the main thoroughfare between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. You will see a beautiful view during your drive up but there is a limited view from the lodge. The Gatlinburg Visitor's Center is located at the turnoff to Wiley Oakley Road. We took the trolley to Downtown Gatlinburg for only 50 cents. You are better off taking the trolley since there is limited parking in Gatlinburg and it will cost you around $6.00 to park. We were paid a visit by a local baby bear who walked right up onto the front porch and looked around. After learning there was no food, he turned and walked away. That was the only time we saw a bear during our stay. It was a thrill for all of us. One note of concern though. The woodpeckers are spending a lot of time damaging the exterior. Wood chips were all over the deck floor and we had to sweep them up. One morning we were awakened by machine-gun pecking on the side of the house. We went outside and apparently scared it away. We never saw it again. This certainly isn't the owners fault, just a act of nature. I should point out we did not receive the email from the owner with instructions for disarming the alarm. So, of course, we set it off when entering. We were able to contact the owner immediately and she helped us disarm it. In fact, the owner was very responsive to all of our needs. She was easily contacted and responded immediately. Thank you Jammie for allowing us to stay at Bearhart Lodge. We hope to visit again soon."

  • Beautiful Mountain Getaway

"We had an amazing time at the Alpine Belle cabin! It was located in the perfect spot. It was a close drive to everything, but out of the way enough to where you felt alone in the mountains. The cabin was very clean (an important factor for us) as well as cozy with a great view. The hot tub was also a huge plus, very clean and always hot! I would highly recommend this cabin to any couple looking for a romantic getaway. We would most definitely return!"

  • Far Exceeded Our Expectations.

"My wife and 9 year old daughter stayed at the Alpine Rose over spring break and had a wonderful time. The Alpine Rose is built on the end of a ridge on a hill side with 270 degrees of absolutely amazing views of the Smoky Mountains. We sat on the front porch and watched the sunset every evening and now know why they are called the 'Smoky' mountains. The other homes in the area are all newer and very well maintained. Everyone we met was very friendly. The cabin itself is fairly new and well kept. The best amenity is the very secluded hot tub. We would relax in the tub and just soak in the views and peaceful atmosphere. The location was perfect. Quiet and secluded but just a short drive to the attractions. We usually find that description and photos of cabins online exaggerate how nice they really are and we are disappointed when we arrive. With the Alpine Rose it was just the opposite. The photos and descriptions of the Alpine Rose under represent how nice it is. We will definitely return the Alpine Rose next time we return to the Smoky Mountains."
