  • nice cabin

"The cabin is very nice, the drive way has a big drop off, you have to stay almost against the fence to keep your car from hitting bottom. was very clean and had everything we needed. The ice maker did not work but we just bought a bag of ice so no big deal. The hot tub would not heat up the last day. If there is more than two people bring blankets and towels. My only Complaint is why would you spend all that money to remodel and not put a new mattress on the bed. Almost every review you have complains about the bed. Asa, spend the extra $500 and put a nice pillow top on that king bed."

  • Just perfect!

"Wow! I cannot say enough good things about this cabin and the owners. Honestly, I'm almost afraid to write all the great things for fear it will stay booked and we won't get a chance to stay in this cabin again. The owners are wonderful to work with. They are so kind and helpful! The cabin is the cleanest one we've ever stayed in and we've been visiting gatlinburg for more than 30 years. It is exceptionally clean and well kept. We loved the location. It's right in the arts and crafts community, which is a fantastic place to find one of a kind, handmade items. We spent much of our visit on the front porch swing relaxing and reading. This cabin is hands down, no doubt about it, the perfect place for a much needed getaway. We hope we can find time to stay again soon! Thank you to the owners. We appreciate you sharing your wonderful cabin with us."

  • Exceeded Expectations

"What a wonderful vacation! My family of 13 stayed at this house for seven days during our annual family vacation. This was our first time in Gatlinburg and our first time staying at Bearhart Lodge. When we arrived we were surprised at how large the cabin was. It was everything as described on VRBO and more. Frankly, the pictures don't do it justice. Each bedroom was decorated lovely and had a king size bed with a private bath. Who could ask for anything more? The air hockey, pool table and hot tub were all in working order and the kids spent most of their time downstairs taking advantage of them. The kitchen was adequately stocked and fresh linens were provided. The driveway was a little steep, but certainly manageable. We quickly learned to drive past the driveway, turn around and drive straight in. On occasion, we backed in so we could pull straight out. We had five cars and a trailer and had enough parking for all. It is a ten minute drive up the mountain from the main thoroughfare between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. You will see a beautiful view during your drive up but there is a limited view from the lodge. The Gatlinburg Visitor's Center is located at the turnoff to Wiley Oakley Road. We took the trolley to Downtown Gatlinburg for only 50 cents. You are better off taking the trolley since there is limited parking in Gatlinburg and it will cost you around $6.00 to park. We were paid a visit by a local baby bear who walked right up onto the front porch and looked around. After learning there was no food, he turned and walked away. That was the only time we saw a bear during our stay. It was a thrill for all of us. One note of concern though. The woodpeckers are spending a lot of time damaging the exterior. Wood chips were all over the deck floor and we had to sweep them up. One morning we were awakened by machine-gun pecking on the side of the house. We went outside and apparently scared it away. We never saw it again. This certainly isn't the owners fault, just a act of nature. I should point out we did not receive the email from the owner with instructions for disarming the alarm. So, of course, we set it off when entering. We were able to contact the owner immediately and she helped us disarm it. In fact, the owner was very responsive to all of our needs. She was easily contacted and responded immediately. Thank you Jammie for allowing us to stay at Bearhart Lodge. We hope to visit again soon."
