  • Family Spring Break

"What a great place to have a get away with kids. My husband and our three kids - (ages 13, 5 and 4) very much enjoyed our vacation out at Grand View...and what a view it was. The week we were there it was really wet and foggy, but when it cleared up you could really just enjoy looking at the Smokey Moutains. We ALL enjoyed the hot tub. The house was very clean. Plenty of towels for a family of 5! And so much to do around town. It was lovely spending our time out hiking to come home and soak in the hot tub. Loved it!"

  • Private but close to everything

"This is a wonderful place to stay and is very well appointed. You are in a quiet area, but still only 10 minutes to downtown Gatlinburg. Cades Cove is a must and so is the Roaring Forks Motor trail where we got to see some bears, including a momma and two babies! The drive over the mountain to Cherokee was wonderful with lots of pull-offs and overlooks. You may also get to see the elk at the Oconaluftee Visitor's Center. Overall, this was a great vacation, but they are never long enough!"

  • Just perfect!

"Wow! I cannot say enough good things about this cabin and the owners. Honestly, I'm almost afraid to write all the great things for fear it will stay booked and we won't get a chance to stay in this cabin again. The owners are wonderful to work with. They are so kind and helpful! The cabin is the cleanest one we've ever stayed in and we've been visiting gatlinburg for more than 30 years. It is exceptionally clean and well kept. We loved the location. It's right in the arts and crafts community, which is a fantastic place to find one of a kind, handmade items. We spent much of our visit on the front porch swing relaxing and reading. This cabin is hands down, no doubt about it, the perfect place for a much needed getaway. We hope we can find time to stay again soon! Thank you to the owners. We appreciate you sharing your wonderful cabin with us."

  • Happy with Christmas Gift

"My friend and I decided we wanted to give our families a trip to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge for Christmas last year. So after considerable searching for the perfect cabin, we decided on the High Places Retreats "Open House". I just have to say it turned out to be a great choice for the 14 of us!! We range in age from 22 months to 80 years and all of us were very comfortable here. The kids and "kids at heart" loved playing pool and foosball, and those who wanted to relax did exactly that in the rockers and hot tub on the porches. We had plenty of room to sit down and eat our meals, and privacy enough to turn in early at night or stay up late thanks to the three levels of bedrooms and two living areas. Delicious smores were enjoyed by all at the gazebo with fire pit one evening. We even had a "Black Bear" experience during our stay! The cabin is close to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge as well as Gatlinburg, so it was conveniently located to many places we wanted to visit. Thanks for sharing your cabin with all of us!"
