  • Fun trip to the Smoky Mountains

"My friends and I came to the Smoky Mountains for the first time. Found this place and it had good reviews. It didn't disappoint. We had a nice time. We used the hot tub and fire pit and those worked great. Was great for cooking in and enjoying some down time. Only small complaint is that we had to get our own paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags and dish detergent. May have been and oversight, but wasn't mentioned that we needed to bring these things and it required an extra trip back to town. We still loved our stay and would go again, just be prepared that you might need to get some of your own dry goods."

"There is no possible way to describe how incredibly wonderful our stay at High Mountain Lodge was. It was way beyond any hope or expectation we ever had for a quiet, peaceful and beautiful place to stay. As close to heaven you can get! The cabin was gorgeous, and so comfortable, and had absolutely everything we needed. We really did not want the week to end. Lynn and Donald are fantastic people to work with, they were just amazing, attentive to all of our needs ! The view from the lodge was spectacular and we continue to pour over the pictures we took just from the deck. We had a fabulous time with the two couples who went with us...and this is not a vacation we will ever forget. It was even better than the cruise we took a couple of years ago! Thank you Lynn and Donald from the bottom of our hearts...we love your home....we loved our stay at High Mountain Lodge, and we are making plans to come back again as soon as we can. Well worth the wait and well worth every cent. No doubt you will be hearing from us again so we can stay once more at High Mountain Lodge !"

  • Wonderful Stay!

"We had a wonderful stay at the Beary Cozy cabin and I would definitely recommend it to others!! We stayed for 2 days while visiting Tennessee. We had a short drive to many of the area's attractions including the more tourist centered Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge as well as the outdoor centered nature areas in the Smoky Mountains Park. The drive is steep and curvy so be prepared but it is still something that any car can handle in my opinion (as long as the roads don't have ice on them). The location of the cabin provided the privacy that we were looking for to get that woodsy feel while it was still easily found and not far from anything. There were only two of us staying so we mostly used the upstairs area and only went down to the lower level to shower. This would be a great family stay but there is not a lot of privacy on the first level. The furniture was very rustic and had a wonderful "cabin" feel. My only complaints are minor and should not sway you from staying as the price, location and all other factors really can't be beat. First there were a significant amount of spiderwebs both inside and outside of the home. I realize this is in the woods and they form very quickly however, these could easily be removed with little effort since there are regular cleanings. The other problem was the tile that was mentioned in other reviews. Both bathrooms should have the tile replaced but the top floor is in great need. We felt the tile moving under our feet and it seemed like a small job that could be done relatively cheaply and without a significant down time. I am no expert but it would really fix the appeal. Finally, the fridge continued to not shut properly with the causal effort one would use. This was not really a problem for us since our stay was only two days and most of our meals were out but I could see this being a larger problem when stocking the fridge (especially with kids going in and out). Having gone over the negatives I will let you decide for yourself but I definitely plan to return!!! The trip is great for all ages and this is a great place to stay!!!"
