"We enjoyed the quiet and solitude of the cabin. We were very comfortable. The location is great for the convenience of being close to Cade's Cove as well as Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg."

  • Peaceful Retreat

"We were pleasantly surprised at how spacious this cabin is with so many beautifully decorated rooms. The views from the extremely large porch were breathtaking, and we were sad to leave this peaceful retreat. I especially enjoyed having my coffee in the morning while soaking up the gorgeous views of the Smoky Mountains. The jacuzzi was a nice treat to relax in after a day of hiking or shopping. I love that it's far enough from the sounds of traffic, but close enough to grocery stores, restaurants and the heart of Gatlinburg, as well as the parks. What a welcoming break from the heat of New Orleans. We're very much looking forward to returning in the near future."

  • Heaven on earth at Dolly's Shadow

"We came for a car show and this was the perfect place for us. We have stayed at the owners cabins in the past also and each one is perfect. They go out of their way to make your stay as positive as can be. They even send you lists of ideas of things to do, places to see & eat, great directions and about anything else you could think of. The cabin is beautiful and has all the comforts of home. It is secluded yet close enough to be on the parkway in ten minutes or so, close to all the action. We will be trying to get this cabin when we go back next time. Thanks for everything!!!"

  • A Time to Reflect

"My wife and I just returned from our visit to your cabin and found it most relaxing. I only wish we could have gone earlier in the season because the cold I can do without. We actually had a beautiful little snowfall early this morning. Now as far as critiques: the cabin is as described and pictured; many have referenced the steep stairs at the entrance. Yes they are, but I prefer them over a spiral staircase which we have dealt with at other 2 story units before. The downstairs was a bit difficult to keep at an acceptable warm temperature compared to the upper level; normal problem with a single unit 2 story. The jacuzzi tub, although slow to fill, was very relaxing since it was too darn cold outside to test out the hot tub. The "steam shower" was interesting although I wouldn't call it steam; but rather a jetted pulse type shower that will absolutely freeze you until you figure out how to prime everything up before you enter. Gas Fireplace with blower downstairs nice but one upstairs is thermostat controlled since the timer is broken. No blower. TV's in downstairs bedroom is dated, as well as the one in the master living area which it has a lot of snow on all channels. Updated flatscreen TV in upstairs bedroom is tiny. I am not technically challenged, but I could not get the DVD player to output to the TV either upstairs or downstairs. I usually fix things myself but there was an instruction card there saying don't touch the cables, so I didn't. We watched snowy TV in the late evenings. The over the range microwave is broken but a temporary countertop unit is there to use until a new one is installed. As others have said, water pressure is low, but I have seen this at many mountain cabins before. The outside electric grill although slow to heat up, managed to cook some hot dogs one evening just fine. I had to retrieve the outside trash container 1 time where apparently a bear or some other critter tried to get in. They had knocked it over and it almost rolled down into the creek. It's rustic alright! Plenty of quiet this time of year and barely anyone in sight. None of the cabins side by side that you see everywhere else. I love being away from the crowds of the parkway and after a drive or 2, it doesn't seem very far at all. The wife wouldn't drive the roads at night, but I had no problems. The owners were easy to deal with and I am sure would have helped me set up the DVD if I had called. Wasn't that big an issue for me. Relaxing Time Away!"
