"We looked at A LOT of cabins before we booked Dreamview. Not to sound like a broken record, but the cabin is most appropriately named! The interaction with Mary leading up to our stay was great. This seemed less like a business transaction, and more like two friends talking about the use of the cabin. For our family of four, this was the perfect size, and if needed you could accommodate a few more. The walk out decks on both levels offered breathtaking views. The hot tub is a great place to enjoy the view, and I recommend bringing a personal cooler so you don't have to get out to enjoy your favorite cold beverage. The upstairs is a great hangout for the kids, but could also serve as the master, although my wife and I chose the downstairs bedroom for a little more privacy. The kids made use of the cloth checker board on the table, and the foosball and pool table got some use, too. The charcoal grill/smoker has a deep bottom to it, so for those of you (like me) that haven't used charcoal in a while, this one requires you to "pile it high" to get the heat where you need it. Once I adjusted for it, our grillables were just fine. That's the other thing, if you don't want to hassle with the strip, there is a Food City only 3/10 of a mile once you get to the parkway. We loaded up on food and ate most of out meals in the cabin because everything you will need is in the kitchen, which saves a lot of money. There are many things to do in the area, but we enjoyed Clingman's Dome specifically, as the view from 6,644 feet up is amazing. Once you enter the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, it's about a 20 mile ride to get to the parking area. From there, you have to walk the last 1/2 mile, where the elevation rises 330 feet. Needless to say, it is a workout- but worth the effort. My 13 year old really wanted to go to Dollywood, so my advice would be if you can get discount tickets through AAA, to do so in advance. The AAA website was down the morning we went so we had to pay full price. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful park and rides for all levels of enjoyment. The Island is a nice area to walk and enjoy a lot of free entertainment, i.e., the dancing waters, and if you want a Cheeseburger in Paradise, Margaritaville is there, too! Being from Ohio, we chose to expand our horizons and ruled out NC, SC & Florida, because that is all the kids have known for 15 years. We are so glad we did Pigeon Forge, and would highly recommend it. Dreamview is the perfect place for it!"
