"We arrived late at night in the middle of a rainstorm, but had no problem finding the chalet with the help of our GPS. The chalet is located about 10 minutes outside of Gatlinburg, and feels very private while also having neighboring rental chalets nearby. It is located on the side of a steep, wooded hillside. The driveway is definitely steep, but with a little momentum, our hatchback car was able to make it up to the top without a problem. We even saw a momma bear followed by four baby cubs just down the road from the chalet one morning!
We found the loft layout to be very nice. The upstairs master bedroom is HUGE, with an amazing two-person jacuzzi in it that we relaxed in almost every night. The chalet has central air also, which was key in the very hot and humid weather we experienced for our visit in June.
The kitchen was well-equipped and roomy, with plenty of utensils and materials to cook meals in the chalet (which we did almost every day) if you want to save a little money by not going out to eat for every meal. The living room space was very comfortable, the WiFi worked well, and the TV's had a full cable package to watch if one desires. The pool table, four-person hot tub on the deck, and Ms. Pac-man arcade game were all nice touches to fill in the leisure time at the cabin as well.
The highlight of our experience was the amazing customer service the owners, Melissa and Don, showed us after we left, however. Our four-year-old son forgot his stuffed animal (a monkey that he sleeps with every night) in the kids' bedroom, and we didn't realize it was missing until we were about two hours out of Gatlinburg. I called the owners to see if they could possible get in contact with their housekeeper to try to locate the monkey, and not only did they do that, but they texted me several times with updates, and emailed me several times over the next couple days with updates on when they were able to go to the cabin themselves to get it and then mail it to me. On top of all of that, when I offered to send them a check to cover the cost of shipping, they insisted it was no problem and would not accept payment. "Just good old-fashioned customer service." I would say so!!
