  • Incredible!

"Five friends from college and I rented this house for a week in August 2014. My friends all came from different parts of the country - Chicago, New York, Atlanta, DC, and New Haven. We all attended a small liberal arts school in Virginia, Washington & Lee University, which is similar in many ways to the neighboring University of the South at Sewanee. Although I live in DC these days, I grew up in Chattanooga and have several family connections to Sewanee. I knew about the house because my family stayed there on multiple occasions when I was younger for Sewanee events. While I was off to school in another pretty part of the country, I always wanted to show my friends the beauty of the South Cumberland Plateau. Now several years out of school, this place came to mind from memories of my youth when we were trying to think of vacation ideas. I cannot think of a better place to have stayed. We so enjoyed spending time together in this beautiful, secluded home on a private lake. I can honestly say the house was perfect for us and helped make this one of the most enjoyable weeks of my life. We played two rounds of golf at the Sewanee Golf Course, had a doubles tournament at the Clifftops tennis courts, hiked the Sewanee Perimeter Trail (from the Highway 41 entrance gate to the Memorial Cross…. 16 or so miles in one day, a massive 8 hour undertaking, even for former cross country runners), swam in the beautiful mountain lake from the dock on the property, and caught enough panfish to eat for dinner one night. We loved our dinner at Pearl's and ate lunch twice at Shenanigans. We also drove through Lynchburg to get barbecue at Barrelhouse and see the Jack Daniel's distillery on our way to a free concert in Midtown Nashville one night. The house is perfect for day hikes into the South Cumberland State Park. The listing description is 100% accurate, owners are great, and the place is even better in person than in the listing photos! I highly recommend you see for yourself!"

  • Family loved it!

"We only stayed a short time. The house was exactly as promised! Clean, quaint with plenty of room for the 4 of us. My kids loved not having to share a bed and everything the house offered. The only con was the road leading up to it is pretty steep (for us flat landers here in FL) and my husband got vertigo going up and down the mountain. I would definitely recommend a stay at this property!"

  • Peak-A-View

"Our family's stay was great to say the least; all the comforts of home... cabin is very spacious & comfortable. The kids loved the hot tub and the hills outside to play on while the adults loved the porch swings and relaxing environment. The price is very reasonable and the owners were friendly & easy to contact if needed (but I didn't have too). Cabin is conventiently located near all area attractions (Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Townsend) within minutes & best of all just mins from the back entrance of the waiting in heavy traffic at all. We go to the Smokies every 3-4 years and would definitly rent this cabin again."

  • Perfect resting place!

"We scoured the internet, looking for places to stay on a family vacation to the Smokey Mountains. We starred this cabin on several sites and decided to go for it. It was the best decision we made for the week! The cabin easily fit the five of us in our family and the kids LOVED the air hockey table and retro arcade unit. We enjoyed hiking the trails then coming "home" to relax (we didn't really want to do the touristy stuff). This place was perfect! Diane was a great host, kept in communication with some maintenance work that needed to be done while we were there or would be completed before we arrived. We can't wait to come back again!"
