"Elk Lodge is the place to stay if you have a large group (or a small one) who would like to stay together. Rooms are comfortable and well stocked with towels, etc. The kitchen is large and well maintained. The dining room has many tables, and there is a TV room that seats several. A gathering room on the second floor is a good place for all to meet. Tuckaleechee Retreat Center is located in Townsend (the quieter side of the Smokies) and is close to Cades Cove, a nice drive to Pigeon Forge (through Wear's Valley----beautiful) and not far from Gatlinburg. There is a pool, a hot tub, a large front porch with rocking chairs. Ruth and her staff go out of their way to make you comfortable."

"I rented this cabin for my family coming in town for my wedding in Walland. I did not actually see the place due to being so busy, but my family said it was really cozy and awesome! The price was right and it was right off 321, so it was really easy to get to for people who are not from the area. Will definitely book again if needed!"

"Stayed here for 3 nights and was happy. There were only 2 of us so the 2 king beds worked out fine. I must say it was a little awkward with the open 1 room floor plan. When one of us got up during the night to use the restroom the other would be woken up, and it isn't really possible to take a nap or rest during the day with the other person walking about. But that is to be expected with this floor plan and I'm just not used to it. Otherwise this cabin is very nice and rustic. Nicely furnished and very clean. The kitchen is very well stocked with pots and pans and utensils. We used the grill on the back deck every night and it was great! The deck is quite large with a table and chairs and extra chairs as well. (this is the only place i could get cell reception, by the railing) We received a few visits by the resident squirrel which was fun. The view is looking down on the river and very woodsy, so don't expect a clear long distance view here. But it is tranquil an serene. Not a big deal but there is a road across the river. You can't see it but a few times i could here it, but not enough to disturb sleep or anything. The drive up is not that steep but it is mostly unpaved gravel. If you are staying in Townsend to visit Cades Cove this is a very good location. I went early Saturday morning and it only took about 17 minutes. All in all a solid cabin if you are used to the open floor plan."

"We absolutely enjoyed our stay! This house was just beautiful!!! We found the kitchen to have everything we needed to cook our meals. The beds were comfortable and the house was clean. The drive up to the property was steep but was no problem. We loved the view and the screened in room! It was so peaceful there. This was our first visit to the smokey mountains and we could not have picked a better place to have stayed in. We can't wait to come back!!!"
