"This is a wonderful cabin! We enjoyed our stay very much! Since I rely heavily on reviews when I am making plans I want to be as helpful as possible. The cabin is at the end of the road so it is nicely secluded. We loved how close you can park to the front door making it easy to get luggage in and out. It was very clean when we arrived. There was a live scorpion in the bathroom sink when we entered but this is no fault to the cabin, it is deep in the woods and it added to our experience :o) The furniture is definitely a little worn. The kitchen was more than adequate supplying everything we needed. 2 things to be aware of : first of all you can hear every noise in the cabin as if you were all in the same room. I assume this is probably true to all cabins, we were just not use to it. Secondly, there is no view from this cabin. There are 2 wonderful decks - one enclosed and one open - and it is delightful to sit on them, You feel like you are in the middle of the woods and it is very relaxing. But the trees right around the cabin are what you see, not the mountains. Over all we were very happy with our stay."

"Would recommend this home to anyone looking for a place to stay while in Sewanee! We rented it for our daughter's wedding and it was perfect. Our family was very comfortable and the house is clean and well stocked. The décor made us feel right at home. Very comfy and cozy in a beautiful private setting!"

"We were all very pleased with our stay at Bear Den South. The pictures do not do it justice as they can't show how spacious the home is. There were nine people in our party and we had plenty of room. We had great views of the Smokey mountains and beautiful Cherokee Lake. The kitchen is well equipped and I had fun using the variety of dishes. There were also supplies on hand which was very nice. Little things mean a lot like plenty of trash bags, toilet paper, towels, blankets, pillows, cooking items, lots of movies to watch, and kitchen essentials (salt, pepper, baking powder, etc.) All the beds were very comfortable. Also, the kids had plenty of rafts to play on, plus life jackets galore which they used all week. The water is deep and clean and not weedy. We rented a pontoon boat for a day from Cardinal Cove which was close to the house and convenient. Other side trips were a day in Gatlinburg and an afternoon at Panther Creek State Park (welcome center is closed on Wednesday). We also found a vegetable stand nearby with some good Grainger tomatoes. It was just a wonderful time for our family and at the end I had a big hug from my youngest grandchild who said "thanks for bringing me to Tennessee and also for our great home!" I can say anyone who stays here will not be disappointed."

"We just spend one of the most amazing summer get away in a historic home, on farmland with a mountain view.
There were fireflies to chase every night, and lots of bunnies to watch for, and deer.
Our family of 5 enjoy a time away from all electronics and going back in history.
The Cumberland State park is around the corner.
We look forward to visit again.
Sylvie, Johnny, and children"
